Hey everybody, I remember around the time Poodle Hat came out, we had a list of television shows for everyone to contact and suggest that Al should make an appearance. Since Straight Outta Lynwood is coming out in just a few measly months, we should start to prepare a list of URLs of television shows where we can suggest Al as a guest and start contacting them. What do you think?

This will especially be good if Al and the band aren't touring until next summer. Al will want to get the word out about his album even more and he won't be swamped with back-to-back tourdates.

Here's a quick list I made, that everyone can add to. If the mods want to take over and complie the list or whatever then that would be great.

The Tonight Show With Jay Leno: (Can suggest him as a musical guest or a regular guest under the "choose a subject" option. Hey, AL was just on with Ben Folds not too long ago.) Leno Suggestion

Mad TV: Mad TV Suggestions

The Late Night Fox Show: Late Night Fox Show E-mail

The Late Show With David Letterman: Letterman Suggestions

The Late Late Show With Craig Ferguson: (Drew Carey connection) Late Late Show Suggestions

Oprah: (Hey who knows?): Oprah Ideas

The Ellen D. Talkshow: Ellen Comments

Larry King Live: Larry King Live Comments

Those are just the ones I could find. I couldn't find some for shows like Conan and SNL, but I'm sure we can think of some more.

Conan O'Brien would be my first choice.

The Daily Show would be my second choice -- there wouldn't be a performance, but there would be an interview. Al was on Jon Stewart's early-90s MTV chat show, so they go way back.

Getting Al on Oprah would probably help, seeing as she`s pretty much the most powerful person in the world.

Yeah, it would be cool to see Al on the Daily Show. I remember Al was not only on Jon Stewart's MTV show, but Stewart introduced the world premiere of the "Smells Like Nirvana" music video when he was guest host on Comedy Central's Short Attention Span Theater . He also interviewed Al after they aired the video.

Al on the Colbert Report could also be fun, although he typically only interviews political-types.

Wow, someone who remembers Jon Stewart on Short Attention Span Theater. That was quite a while ago.

Al would be soooo perfect for the Daily Show.

Yeah, Jon Stewart was one of many hosts. I still have the segment with Al & Jon on VHS somewhere....

I remember SAST. I actually got a autographed pic of Jon because I was a "Nielsen Household" for a while and watched SAST twice a day. So that really ranked up thier ratings

How about Al as host + musical guest on SNL? There's a fanboy's dream come true.

Definitely. We need to get as many people to send in requests to these shows as possible in a professional way. We Al fans can sure do a lot, participation wise, and things like raising the $15,000 proves this. So let's try to get lots of people on these forums to message these shows, shall we?
