I wear a number of "hats" in the music business which is how I make a living in music in los Angeles. I prioritize my work opportunities with Al CD's/tours and TV/ film composing coming first, then for-hire music production, Hawaiian music gigs and such after that. If I take a gig, for example, it's always contingent on my availability.If a great scoring opportunity comes up, I try to re-arrange my schedule to accomodate that, as this kind of work can often generate writer's royalties for many years.That being said, I always try to make time for my own music and often turn down work to focus on that.
