Okay, so AOL is doing this 100 Greatest Americans thing and I think that Al is definitely one of the greatest Americans. If this topic is irrelevent, close it, but I think that it would be neat if people went and nominated Al.

For something like this, I'm more inclined to vote for Thomas Edison. If it weren't for Edison, we would have never been able to hear Al.

And electric light is pretty nifty to have too.

There was a show like this in Canada. I still can't believe Don Cherie was in the top 10.
Anyways, Al's chances seem slim as he isn't even in the Rock Hall yet.

I don't think that being in the Rock Hall should have to be a pre-requisite for Al to get on that list. But he won't even get on it at all if people don't nominate him.

Something tells me he won't end up on this list even if people do nominate him.

...Okay, he definitely won't get on the list with that attitude! that just brought out my scary optimistic side. when that side gets turned on, i become the really scary kind of optimistic, just ask Patti.

You don't want to get her into that mode, anth. Besides, I was thinking along the same lines. I say, tell that "something" to be quiet.

Yeah, and Al feels also kinda happy singing in the microphone onstage.
*or am I wrong and T. A. Edison doesn't have any connection with the microphone?*
But yes, believe me, Al IS one of the 100 greatest Americans. No. 27, to be more exact, between Betty Boop and Milli Vanilli.
