South Park is my very favorite show and IMO much better at social satire than The Simpsons ever were. Not that I don't like the Simpsons, but SP is much better.

Anyway, I thought it might be a good idea to try to get Al on South Park. They have just finished the 7th season of the show, and will probably soon start working on ideas for the 8th season. The show is known for featuring random, often obscure celebrities and rock stars. Artists who have been on the show include: Korn, Radiohead, Elton John, Ozzy Osborne, Primus, Robert Smith (The Cure), and others.

Southparkstudios.com is a website which is run by people who work on the show and are in direct communication with Matt Stone and Trey Parker. We already know that Matt and Trey are friends of Al's, so it shouldn't take too much convincing, as long as they can find a way to work it into a storyline, which shouldn't be too hard considering how most of their celebrity choices are so random.

There are enough of us here, that if we all go to this page and submit a "question," we might be able to persuade them. It's worth a shot!

When you post your question, remember that it should be stated as a question and that it should be kept relatively short. Also, be complimentary. Even if you don't like the show, pretend you are a fan! Here are some example of things you might say:

"I really liked the episodes with Korn and Radiohead! Any chance of seeing "Weird Al" Yankovic in a future episode?"

"It's been a while since we've seen any rock bands on the show, other than Moop! Will we see any new guest appearances anytime soon? I think Weird Al would be cool to see on the show!"

"I've heard that Matt and Trey are friends with Weird Al Yankovich. Is this true? If so, why hasn't Weird Al appeared on the show yet?"

Don't send these exact questions, but variatons. Use your own words so they don't think it's all the same person spamming them. With any luck, Al will get to be in Season 8 of South Park! :)

Gee, I'd like to, but if Mum caught me watching South Park, she'd have a fit. Then, once she got back from hospital, she'd ground me.

So I won't vote yet...

YankovicH, Jeremy? :stern:

I just submitted my question... I'd like nothing more than to get Al on SP. It'd be like... loving burgers, loving bacon, and getting to order them together as a bacon cheeseburger.

some obscure -- they were listed above

some not obscure (Ozzy, Elton)

I'd love to see Al on South Park. He could be big "not gay" Al.
This means something. This is important.

I said OFTEN obscure, not always. But I would certainly consider Al to be obscure in the sense that he is certainly not mainstream.

Also, I spelled it "Yankovich" intentionally so that the readers wouldn't think it was a hard-core Al fan bugging the South Park creators, but a hard-core South Park fan inquiring about Al. BTW, I am a hard-core fan of both, equally!

If the band was on there with him, Jim would have beady little eyes and a flapping head.

Why do you say that? Is Jim Canadian? :o

BTW, South Park isn't just about foul language and not all the characters need to curse. In fact, they did a whole episode condeming excessive use of foul language. They only use it when appropriate. The show is very clever, and I reccommend it to anyone (who is old enough to watch it, that is!). It's easy to find something offensive, but the cool thing about it is the show makes you feel very foolish for being offended.
