Al's Shirts

We all know Al wears Hawaiian shirts, but what fabric, I suppose, are they made from? A few of them (UHF deleted scenes commentary, for example) look silky, and others look cottony (WAY: Live's first few songs).
My question is - does he wear silky shirts, or are they all cotton? Before you all rip into me, let me just say I know nothing about Hawaiian shirts, so I'm forced to ask.

I'd say there's a pretty wide variety, considering many of them have been given to him by venues he's played at and by fans.

It's not a stupid question. The one I gave him was a poly/cotton blend. Which I would imagine most of them are. Cotton is most comfy, but a pain when you are living out of a suit case. Literally.
Sorry, I just rewatched AL-TV
The shiny one in the UHF outtakes is most likely polyester. Some are probably rayon.

Probably a mixed blend. I've seen some of the poly/cotton blend, more of the rayon/cotton blend, or 100% rayon. Al probably owns a lot of each type.
I prefer 100% rayon myself since they are very comfty.

I believe the one I game him (pictured here) is 100% rayon, but I'll check when I get home (I bought the same one for myself).

Rayon is comfy. And despite what the care instructions say, you can wash it (in cold water.) I just wouldn't put it in the dryer except maybe on very low to fluff it. Most of my rayon I hang dry.

Hey! I gave him that shirt.

Uh...but I don't remember what kind of fabric it was....a couple different kinds, I think. It was a pretty heavy shirt.

Rayon's the only thing I'll wear. Silk goes gross really quickly after washing. (I've also been wearing hawaiian shirts since FAR before I'd even heard of the Al.)

Speaking of Al's shirts, what size does he wear? Maybe I'll give him a shirt next time I meet him ...
