A Different Kind of File Sharing

Okay, I know this is a topic continuously discussed within this forum, and that most people, myself included, feel that it is wrong to illegally share Al's copyrighted material for free.
However I have discovered a website that has free downloads of THE WEIRD AL SHOW in Quicktime format. Now I discovered this, and having been a fan since 1999 and never seeing the show before, I had to check them out to see if they were the real deal, and, they were.
I want to know what everyone's thoughts are of this, and if it is okay if I post the link and program name to download the episodes (There were 8 episodes to download).

i would most certainly think its okay, because there are no other ways (yet) to get a hold of a copy
(talk to the people though)

Hmmm...

This has ALways been a controversial topic to be talked about in the WOWAY Forums...But those were over
Music Videos and
MP3's, not Television Shows. My opinion, would be that it should be Ok. I mean, they aren't for sale publicly to date, and they aren't being sold at this website either...
If that Al On Kilborn VCD subject hasn't been blocked, deleted, or shunned yet, I wouldn't think this should be either :lookround: . It was a Television show on PUBLIC Television meaning that people taped it and most likely shared it with people once the show stopped. Same as Kilborn. Not everyone could see it. So it was recorded and shared with other people and it eventually made it's way to the internet. PM WHiZZi about it. If he gives the OK go ahead and share those links!

The last time I checked, all thirteen episodes where available for download. Which I did. I haven't watched all of them.
For me, this falls under the same category as the unreleased stuff. If I could buy it, I would. If Dick Clark ever decides to put it out on DVD, I'm going to buy it. I'm not depriving anyone of income since it's not for sale. It may be a fine line, but it's how I look at it.
As far as your question, I think if people are interested they can either PM you are do a Google on The Unofficial Home of TWAS. It's easy enough to find.

The site is linked from weirdal.com
Not that it justifies whether it's right or wrong to download and watch them, that's your own personal call.
I imagine if it was illegal, CBS or Dick Clark or whoever it is that owns the rights to TWAS would shut the site down.

I've never been there before, but the site I have does have the actual episodes for download. They are pretty good quality too.

Whats the website were you download the shows? I hope somebody (who ever owns the rights) will sell the show once again. I would buy it and I'm sure there are many other fans out there that would love to have it as well.

I downloaded those episodes. Horrible quality...I like my VHS that I taped better. *hugs the tape*
...All right, I'll admit it. I missed 2 episodes of TWAS and didn't get them on my tape so I did buy the VCD's that website sold to get them. $15...and they were better quality surprisingly.
