Cross-song references?

Post by TronixBot »

I brought this up cause I just remembered a line in "Stop Draggin' My Car Around" where a line goes: "Listen, the check's in the mail. No, really!" referring (obvoisly) to the song "The Check's in the Mail". I was just wondering if there are any others?

Good question. I don't know, but I am interested in the answer.

He also said "The check's in the mail" in Alimony.

This isn't a song-to-song reference, but isn't there a gag about "can I borrow 5 bucks?" somewhere? It sounds like the middle verse of WDTAHTM is referring to that.

Yeah, the 5 bucks gag is usually from the Al-TV interviews where normally at the end Al will ask the other person if he can borrow 5 dollars.

I just remebered a line from BBOTIMN:

"Crossword puzzles, Spiderman comics and mama's homemade rhubarb pie"

Ohh! Al's Psychic!

Or just that damn good at foreshadowing.

I don't think it's a cross song reference, but the world blows up twice on Polka Party. Eminem only wishes he could have that kind of death count on an album....

OK, I suppose in Christmas at Ground Zero, there could have been a last second reprieve...but the condition the world is then, would you want it to?
You have quickly thought up such matchless phrase?

UHF: Just bash my head right in! No really, just bash it right in!

No George, you know I couldn't do that. ...You still owe me five bucks.

YOU COULDN'T REMEMBER THAT???
