World of Weird Al Yankovic

ABC is airing a new version of $100,000 Pyramid (hosted by Michael Strahan) Sunday nights this summer. They released the list of participating celebrities today, and Al is one of them. He'll be playing against "Scandal" star Bellamy Young. They didn't say which dates the specific episodes are airing, but it premieres 6/26 and should run 10 weeks (I'm pretty sure they ordered 10 episodes).

Hmm, seems interesting. Never heard of the game show though. How does it work?

It's a word-guessing game. Assuming the new version is like versions that have aired in the past, two teams (each with one celebrity and one contestant) give clues to get their partners to guess a series of words in a particular category.

There have been a bunch of different versions since it premiered in the 70s (as the $10,000 Pyramid, I think)

Aaah. I live in Scotland so I've never heard of it until now. Can't wait to see Al on this.

That's pretty disappointing. That's the price of just 3 holidays from Thomas Cook or TUI! What am I meant to do with £6,000? ITV's Good Morning Britain offers better prizes. A whole hunk of tech with £100,000 on the side. Oh yeah, baby.

Considering Al's verbal skills he should do quite well.

I think July 17 can be penciled in as the airdate for Al's episode. ABC has announced the episodes for the first three weeks (through July 10) and the celebrities in those episodes match the order in which they were listed in the press release that named all the celebrities. If they continue in that order Al's episode should be the next one announced, which would air on 7/17.

My suspicion was correct. ABC has announced that Al's episode will air on 7/17 (9pm ET/8 CT).

I'll bump this one more time as a reminder that this airs (in the U.S.) this Sunday at 9pm ET.
