The second syllable has to be pronounced "way" because of the "Weird Al" Yankovic acronym. That much is clear. That leaves you with the first syllable "wo." #solved
Pretend the first W isn't there. Would you think it's pronounced "o-way," or "ow-ay"?

Pronouncing it whoa-way honestly never even occurred to me until I heard Kevbo's award presentation. It's kinda blowing my mind that the forum is pretty evenly split.
But then again I'm a native New Yorker who didn't realize her pronunciation of "horrible" was weird until she entered college....
