Take this FWIW, but Bermuda has yet to update the "Set Lists" portion of Al's page, and he usually does that once a tour is over. So if no update there happens yet, there could very well be a tour next year. Again, it's just speculation by me, so take it FWIW.

There also haven't been any pics of the special reveals in You're Pitiful. It's the biggest visual surprise in the show, and I believe they don't want to officially spoil anything if there's more touring to be done.

Was there any reason why the tour was so short this time around?? I mean, the last couple tours seemed like they went on FOREVER...

Well, there's no word on whether or not there'll be a 2008 tour, so I still have my hopes up. I'm guessing part of the reason the tour was cut short was the delay in releasing the album due to Atlantic Records' stalling over YP. Al more than likely would've toured summer and fall of '06 if SOL had been released when Al originally intended.

It was eight months on two continents, with a pretty intense schedule. I don't think that counts as a short tour, and we don't know yet that he won't tour in 2008.

But I think we do need to be realistic and acknowledge that Al's not likely ever again to tour for 16 months straight like he did when he was Touring With Scissors. He has people at home now who want to spend time with him.

Exactly. I know he used to tour right through the end of October but he has a family now. I'm sure he'd rather spend his birthday with them and Nina's at an age when Halloween is a big deal and Al didn't want to miss out on that. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for a 2008 tour because I'd love to catch at least a couple more shows from the SOL tour and get the chance to meet him but I'd understand if he decided he just didn't want to or just couldn't do another leg.

I still have hopes for a 2008 tour. And yes, you could say this tour was cut short because of the delayed release of the album. Al said that if SOL had come out on its intended release date, the tour would have started in August 2006.

It may have been "short" in time, but the schedule was so concentrated during those months- they played a lot of shows.

...I don't get why you guys can't just drop this already. Stop complaining! You need to respect the band and crew- they're human, too. Touring is an incredibly demanding activity for all that are involved. Give them some space and let them rest before they even start thinking about a second leg.

I wasn't complaining.

Nor was I. In fact, I deeply appreciate that Al still tours even though he has the best reason in the world--staying with his family--to not tour. To me, eight months is a long time to be away from home, living out of a tour bus and hotel rooms. I also dont't believe that Al has to let us know immediately if there will be a second leg. I'm a very patient person. I can wait as long as Al needs to rest up and think about what he's going to do in 2008. If he tours, great! If not, that's fine too; my life won't end if I have to wait a little longer for another concert tour or even if he decides to give up touring altogether. I'll support Al either way; as long as he's happy, that's all that matters.
