Maybe, but I Kissed A Girl was so long ago in her career. She has had so many big hits since then, it would be hard to imagine she's off the table just because she was in a polka. I'm not saying Al is looking for an excuse to do the parody, just that he would be crazy to rule it out if the right idea came along. Don't forget, the most recent precedent is that he decided to parody Born This Way less than a year after recording Polka Face.

I have to assume this was a joke. :wacko:

She wouldn't be off the table just because she was in a polka. She'd be on the back burner because she was already on Al's most recent album. I could see it if just the right idea came along for a parody of something from "Prism". Otherwise he might just move on and parody her later on after album 14 if she has another huge hit in the future sort of like how he tackled Green Day between BHD and SOL (an act whom he polkafied first, then parodied three albums later).

Aww, we fought about Billy Joel last week and I missed it?! I love Billy Joel. On my iPod, Al is #2 in terms of sheer number of songs, and Joel is #1. I was about to agree with Killingsworth, but according to iTunes, "Piano Man" is classified as "Rock." I can see it either way. Plenty of Joel songs are classified "Pop," and while he certainly did both (and really ran the gamut stylistically across his career), I don't believe his first true rock album came out until Glass Houses in 1980, well after "Piano Man" debuted.

But hey, tomato, tomahto. :rolleyes:

I saw her at the Grammys, too. Gee, I sure hope she didn't straighten her hair just so Al will have a harder time parodying her "Royals" video. Al can straighten his hair, too.

At any rate, she's at least earned a spot in the polka for sure now provided it's not another "themed" folk rock polka like Jon and others have suggested.

I'm pretty sure she straightened her hair because she's a girl and girls like to look nice for things

I was just thinking about what it would be like if Al did a Red Hot Chilli Peppers style parody for one of the new originals after hearing their newest single which is, in fact, a hoax being perpetrated by comedian Jon Daly in honor of their Super Bowl gig this weekend.

This is a pretty well done pastiche, but we all know Al's would sound better. I just heard this and started thinking about how they could be the next band that Al had run through his whole gamut (parody, style parody AND polka) much like REM and Queen have.

Jon Daly ripped off that idea from Tim Heidecker (Tim & Eric, Check It Out With Steve Brule, which you should watch when Season 3 premieres next month), who previously released Madonna and Bob Dylan themed style parodies for the last two years' respective Super Bowls.

Also, the best RHCP style parody I've heard is "Trippin on XTC" by Green Jelly: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C7UzU07qZ3s" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Not to mention the two Super Bowls before that when Heidecker also "uncovered" the new song from The Who and Black Eyed Peas!
