Why hasn't Al been on SNL yet?

Is AL-TV returning or did you find a nice interview? Just tell the folks here.

From what I found on Google, Don Pardo hasn't participated in any of the music performances since Season 1 with Frank Zappa. As I mentioned in the post from in May, Pardo should do this one more time before he leaves. Sometimes the hashtag is used as a followup joke. I'm using the hashtag to point out why I'm tweeting it in the first place.

And Steve Higgins is the current producer on SNL. He's also Jimmy Fallon's announcer. Hence ?uestlove has easy access.

It is pretty shocking to me that Al hasn't been on either Letterman or SNL. If he were to be on SNL, he could be utilized in a sketch, or even a digital short with the Lonely Island guys. But, that's a pipe dream at this point. I'd like to see it.

For Letterman, they could have him be the musical guest and possibly do the Top Ten. But, in all honesty, I'd rather see Al on Craig Ferguson's show. The interaction between Craig, Al, and Geoffrey, the Robot Skeleton would be great.

Ideal late night show for Al to perform on, be interviewed on, appear in a sketch on... The Colbert Report. Note: This is very likely to happen if Al ever beats Colbert for a Grammy.

I was thinking the same thing, honestly. Colbert's an underrated show.

Al on SNL won't happen. Al is a comedy musician, the musical guest serves as a break from the comedy. I see Al being on Fallon again in the future, which isn't a terrible show, he's growing into it

I hope Jimmy Fallon gets better. I don't think I have watched SNL since he was on it. I used to have a huge crush on him. Conan was apparently wasn't good when he first started out so he has time to get good. But of course I'd watch it if weird al was on again

But a generation (or two?) who have grown up laughing at SNL’s Weekend Update (or the latest incarnation, Best Week Ever) might want to check out That Was The Week That Was, featuring a brilliant cast and group of writers (including Monty Python members and even writer Roald Dahl!). As always, an American version was adopted and the names involved are stunners – everyone from Woody Allen and Nichols & May to Gene Hackman, Buck Henry and Alan Alda. Tom Lehrer wrote satirical songs for the show, and a collection of them were released

Tom Lehrer is a musical satirist like Weird Al

Steve Martin's last hosting gig featured him doing his banjo work. I think they can make an exception if they know what they're doing.
