awesome! When I first heard Al sing the line "My life is briliant" I swear, he sounded JUST like James Blunt.

I've got 21...well above the second spot, which has 8 (Red Hot Chili Peppers' "Readymade", if anyone cares).

Bruce the Duck @ Jun 8 2006, 08:43 AM wrote: Okay, I've now listened to the song seven or eight times straight and have downloaded "You're Beautiful" so I could have the original version (I collect them! ).

My favorite lines:

"delusions of adequacy"

"Never had a date that you couldn't inflate"

"You're half undressed
Eatin chips off your chest
While you're playin Halo 2
No one's classier than you"

But the best by far is the introduction! So, what's the story behind the original? Did he actually mess up the introduction and they just left it on the track? Listening to the original, it sure seems like that's what happened.
Yup, it's the intro that got me hooked, too.

The first time I heard this song I thought it had "Al" written all over it, although I thought it would morph more into a stalker theme [which is what the original reminds me of anyway, although maybe I just spend too much time around parolees these days...].

still hoping for a U2 style parody....

In 2002 at the Orange County Fair [CA] Al premiered Party at the Leper Colony the year before Poodle Hat was released. I had that song stuck in my head for ten months. Loved it.
