I also have a few comments about Luke Ski, his music and previous posts about that:
Does Luke mainly concentrate on sci-fi and tv songs? Yes. Are most of his songs parodies? Yes. That is what he does. On his Uber Geek album, it states that Luke Ski is his own target audience.
Being a fan of sci-fi and all comedy music, I enjoy Luke's music and act as much as if not more than Weird Al's. I can understand if someone who is not into sci-fi doesn't get Luke's music since anyone would not be generally interested in music done about topics which they do not know.
Why has Luke Ski gotten so popular on the Doctor Demento show? He apears at numerous sci-fi conventions throughout the country playing his material to those who would appreciate it most and those people keep requesting him.
About ODAS: Luke did a Piano Man parody and a different parody about Peter Parker in his album released the year before. It would be normal to have suspicions. When 2 people do the same thing with music, it would not be unusual for them to have the same idea.
About PH, a different show on the same internet radio channel definitely had unkind things to say about it. I don't remember hearing Luke say anything in person or on his show bad about it. On a couple of occasions, I have seen Luke throughly enjoy Al in concert this past tour. Had he been really upset with him, I doubt he would have been there.
Most fans of comedy music have started by listening to AL. At an ALCON, I discovered that there are other talented artists who do comedy music as well and they are definitely worth listening to if you enjoy the genre.

Bottom line, me and Luke Ski collaborate a lot. He was the assistant director on my video "Rage Against the Mundane" (coming to the internet and home-burned DVDs soon), and has almost as big a part in it as me. In fact, he even does the voices of Ron and Snape on "Sirius Black." Yes, I wish he'd do a bit more non-parody material (and charge a bit less for his relatively mediocre fan club-only material) But if you've got a problem with him, MAYBE you've got a problem with me.

Just maybe.

I don't think anyone has "dissed" Luke. At least no more than you did yourself. Expressing an opinion isn't the same thing as disrespecting someone.

Did you read the posts in question?

Presidents of the United States of America!

Al parodied Lump on Bad Hair Day, and all their songs are upbeat and humorous.

And they're all Al fans as well! There is an infamous concert song of theirs called "Are You Going to the Weird Al Show?" If I am not mistaken, I believe someone was trying to get permission to include that on one of the Al tribute albums, but again I might be wrong.

Of course, they too were all lined up to sign the Rock Hall petition, but they all must have disappeared into Limbo or something because I never heard back from them after their initial interest.

They had a new album out this year, and their comeback managed to get some buzz that I'm sure they didn't expect.

That might have got in the way

You are correct, and it's available on the Me, Myself, and I tribute CD.
