Well!
As everyone has stated, this show ROCKED!
I was cracking up most of the time, because Al was paying so much attention to us! It was incredible! Once we got to the doors of the venue, my April Fool's plan was ruined, because we were told we couldn't take signs in! Shades of King's Island and sharpie markers! But, it turned out ok, cause no one in my lil group had an April Fool's gag, so.... So, I took off the t-shirt I had on under my other shirt which was part of the gag, pretty useless now. It was probably a good thing, because I was so freaking hot during the show, another layer on would have melted me!
The comedian kept looking at Kaffy and Jenni because they were laughing hysterically at his jokes! He was pretty funny!
Then the show started and the guys in front of us probably thought that we'd lost our minds! We were screaming and singing along and doing the motions, it was GREAT!
As was mentioned, before Complicated the phone started ringing, and Al did his little announcement, and Kaffy and I were pointing at him and yelling that it was him. He kind of looked at us like "what?" and we were like "it's YOU!!!", right as I heard the "psssst" for Ruben to tell him...we're gonna put that man out of a job yet!
Then before OMM, everyone was screaming out requests, and we were yelling out OMM...and Al looked at me and held out the mike! And I totally screamed "ONE MORE MINUTE" after that I was like DUH! that was a mic, you didn't need to scream retard!
Then, during the medley, when Al holds up the accordion, he held it up much longer than normal, like he was waiting for something. It was probably a cue from the band, but I jumped up and screamed and he started playing! HEHEH! AIH hit me hard that night!
The WBUL bits with Fred really cracked me up! I tried to get pics, but I don't know if they turned out! I'm not in the digital age yet!

After the show, it was great to get to go inside the venue to see Al, and I had him sign a pic from the Joliet show of him and Tony Goldmark, and he made some comments about the pic and Tony's cd *hmmm hope Tony's not reading this! LOL!*
Such a sweet man! Then, I made the comment about really enjoying the shows on this leg, and that I'd been lucky with seats. And he said "Yeah, I noticed" *squeeeeeeeeeeeee*
It was very cool to see everyone, and spend some time with Fred! I can't wait until Merrilville in August!

I want to hear the story behind the piece of tape on Jenni's face. I love that picture. :)

hehe, great review, Kristi! I don't know if our Meadowbrook group will be quite as rowdy in August, but I know we'll have a great time! That's cool that you got to go inside to see Al! It sounds like he's doing that after a lot of shows. Cool! Thanks for posting that, Kristi!

The show was great. I was third row, just off-center to the right. Al's performance really made the lackluster songs on Poodle Hat a lot more entertaining in person than on the CD.

Being on Steve's side of the theater, I noticed that he didn't look good. He grimaced throughout much of the show and moved slowly, sometimes not leaving for costume changes with the rest of the band. Does anyone know if he's not feeling well?
