Also, just because a song is played on Dr. Demento doesn't mean I have to fall over on the ground laughing hysterically at it. Just because Dr. Demento plays a song doesn't mean it's funny.
This is a good point. Although the comedy records are of course the biggest draw on the show, DrD also unearths some truly bizarre or eclectic tracks. I always like this aspect of the show, because it gives the program less of an "XM Comedy Channel" vibe and more of a feel like the old TV show "Night Flight" or even an old late-night horror host.
I recall years ago when he played a track off a 1960s "Batman" "soundtrack" with Frank Gorshin singing as the Riddler. Not necessarily funny, but nevertheless strange.
So no, if something like "Barney's on Fire" does show up on DrD's show it wouldn't surprise me...I just doubt I'd laugh.

I originally thought it was a parody of We didnt Start The Fire by Billy Joel, but i asked this one kid who had heard it how it went, and i was wrong. Youre probably right, Jace.
Trust me, it isn't.
The guy that made that song has a website.
www.tonymason.com He tells you the only song he's ever done that was a parody is "Nine Inch Claws".

I had alot of trouble convincing my friend today that "who let the cows out" wasn't a weird al song. He says he saw a list of weird al songs and who let the cows out was one of them. I think he might of seen the not al list and got confused.

Well, there are a ton of lists of Al songs that are wrong. If only there was a list of Al's songs and how/when they were released...

Wow, I didn't even think of how that sounded. I'm sure she didn't mean it to sound like your list was wrong, Greg.
