The texture behind Al looks pretty carefully stylized. I would be more surprised if this was NOT from some kind of album artwork than if it was.

It does look very professionally-shot, I'll give you that. But it's a bit dark and freaky for album artwork.

Obviously, this is a an album cover, and OBVIOUSLY, the "dark and freaky album artwork" effect is a sign that the entire album will feature parodies of Nine Inch Nails. Nothing more. Can't believe we didn't think of this before.

He's CLEARLY paying homage to the classic Bradys go to Hawaii saga on the Brady Bunch. I expect Suzanne to tweet a pic of her and a tiki god at some point.

Well, there goes the album cover theory. Looking at the picture properties, I see the following:

Equipment Make: Hipstamatic
Camera model: 180
Creation Software: Adobe Photoshop CS3 Macintosh

Googling around I found the Hipstamatic App for iPhone, which is a software that lets you take picture with cool old school film-like effects, like this one.

The picture doesn't have any other metadata as to when and where it was taken, but someone somewhere mentioned it was probably a Hawaii thing, and I have to lean towards that theory.

It would still make an awesome album cover, so there's always hope.

Thats a good theory Alejandra! But we are looking forward to new ALbum anytime soon, so Im leaning the album artwork direction on this one.
