Yeah, they seemed kinda snippy, complaining about how much she talked, but, like I said, she appreciated what they did. I did say they were kinda hard on her, ok?

Sorry, I was reading sort of fast - guess I saw words that weren't there.
"Mirage text" as I like to call it.

They weren't just being HARD on her - they practically treated her like a child pornographer for committing the cardinal sin of having opinions about things.
Remember when Amanda's friends told the Nazi Twins about the Weird Al connection, and they regarded Al with the kind of religious disdain normally reserved for the likes of Hitler, Bin Laden and Renee Zellweger? And who could blame them? Al makes a fantastic living screwing around with the blindly accepted status quo of pop culture. Can't have THAT while we tell people what not to like liking, no sir!
And when Amanda told them about the 450 human souls that showed up for ALCON, their response was a dismissive "Lot of freaks out there..." Yeah, but the 45,000 people who watch TLC, so they can trust the television's opinion on "what looks good" over their own eyeballs, only have about 1% of a personality each, so it all evens out.
And I loved at the end when they said "you know the HELL you put us through?" Oh, God forbid anyone make the pampered TV stars do their JOBS (while their zillion assistants do all the actual work) without the benefit of a sycophantic subject who makes all the painful arguing go away.
I wonder how many husbands the female host will go through in the next ten years - it's like trying to guess the number of jelly beans in a glass jar.
I'm sorry if I seem bitter, but shows like this are EXACTLY why the terrorists hate us.

Like I said, I missed the first like 15 minutes, so I didn't hear what they said about AlCon. Freaks, huh? Well, I wear my freak badge proudly, and was more than happy to be amongst the crowd of 450, thankyouverymuch. Amanda's kind of a tough cookie, but even so, I'm sure it was hard for her to hear what they said about her. I really loved the Hawaiian shirt they bashed, too, btw. I can't imagine that woman on the show ever finding a man that'd put up with her attitude. This was the first time I ever watched the show, and will probably be the last. Amanda did wind up happy about the way things turned out, but I think she was the one who was put through hell more than those two brats.

Oh, yeah, God bless her for putting up with those asswipes - I would've torn that skinny bitch in half before the first commercial break. I've always been an Obama supporter, but watching this show made me want to write in Bill Ayres.
I can't wait for the spin-off "You Don't Look Like Me So Let's Burn Your House Down, Yay!"

Great post!
I didnt get to see this show, but We have our own "What Not To Wear" over here in England and I dunno if you have the same presenters (I doubt it) but I have the strongest objections possible to this sort of programme anyway so I kinda can imagine what it was like
Nice to see you on the forum!

(GASP) A reality show was imported over here from England?! THAT'S IMPOSSIBLE!
No, the presenters didn't have the benefit of dignity-enhancing British accents. American culture sucks so bad that even our CRAP is unoriginal!

I much prefer Trinny and Susanna (sp?) on the BBC What Not To Wear. They don't spend so much time tearing down their victims. I can't stand the American hosts. They are just plain impolite and their clothes are ugly, too. And they're telling people how to look? Bleah.

It's not like they kidnapped her. She agreed to do the show, hopefully knowing what the show was like.
I thought she looked pretty good at the end. One thing I did find obnoxious was when she wanted to keep her hair color. There's nothing wrong with grey hair. And I liked her hair better curly. I've seen them color people's hair the SAME color.
This show has one look that they try to get people to wear. Even though the hosts don't follow the same rules. I watch this show fairly regularly. I guess I just like to complain about what they did this week.
