This is going to dramatically boost album sales.

Re: Perform This Way (New song on YouTube)
Man, Ive never had to make notes to respond to so many posts! First, Jace, I believe Al asks permission for the polkas for two reasons. One is that he likes to keep the personal relationship to not cause problems. The second is he has to negotiate to get 1/12 of the royalties or whatever the breakdown of songs in the polka is. The video of the song would be the selling point. I feel it was a great song, but the video would put it over the top. I also doubt that she will change her mind, especially with the press already picking up the story. Jeremy, Im not saying this to cause a fight, but just bringing up you wont share your thoughts on HRC is kinda sharing your thoughts. Again, not to start a fight, but you did kinda put them there. Dingo, I dont think its mean spirited in the least, even for Al's version of mean spirit. Hes just stating the obvious, much like in SLN. Jace, I agree its odd that someone who doesnt care what people say suddenly cares. Al should have stuck with his first instinct to stay away. But he had a great idea, and felt since she was ok with the polka it might work out. Mrmeadows, I agree its way better than WYL, and I like WYL. I dont think it will replace Your Pitiful yet, only because YP has a great costume change and seems to be a crowd favorite. I do not think he will have a Lady Gaga Sucks shirt, but I could be wrong. Oneway, I dont think it will replace Skipper either. That was written as a snippet, which made it perfect for the medley, this is a fully done song, so it will probably be performed in full. Mrmeadows, I think this is coming from her, mostly because the of the "wants to hear it" part. I know the Atlantic Records suits were misguided, but they were protecting their artist so he wouldnt be a one hit wonder. Gaga is obviously past that. TMBJon, love how Sheffield used the Madonna parody as a comparison. As I said, I think the video is what would have made this song a hit more so than the lyrics. And Jace, remember when Internet Leaks was supposed to be a good kick start to the album? We have waited over a year since the last songs were recorded, how much longer will we have to wait now?

Re: Perform This Way (New song on YouTube)
They probably were intentional, and Weird Al was most likely aware of this, but that was no reason to leave the unintelligible lyrics for that particular song unmocked.spmahn wrote:I thought that the unintelligble lyrics were intentional? It's not like Come As You Are or Lithium or Heart Shaped Box are quite as hard to understand....
And I wouldn't really call Like a Surgeon one of Al's best, anyway. Seemed a bit gimmicky to me, but so did PTW, so it's forgivable.
How old was that last signature? I mean, really?

Oh!! Good call! I didn't even get the joke. Haha awesome.minnick27 wrote:TMBJon, love how Sheffield used the Madonna parody as a comparison.
Probably wasn't meant as a dig against Al so much as a dig against Gaga sounding like Madonna.

Wow... I almost regret all the stuff I said about this earlier, but first I want to know about this "source." Lady Gaga needs to speak up on this because she's already getting all sorts of crap from it.
If this is true, Al just released the lead single to the album! If Al is willing to hold up selling this and Gaga really does say yes, we should have an album in no time!

Re: Perform This Way (New song on YouTube)
I dont know. Would Al still release it commercially, especially with it being out there already? I doubt it. I do want to see the video though

TMZ doesn't have the best reputation for honesty, but I don't see why they would lie about this.
Plus, it was Lady Gaga that asked to hear the song, not the manager.
