I just think it's unfair. Because someone's an actor/actress they suddenly have much more important things to say than musicians? It's just always seemed unfairly biased to me, just because a musical guest can put out an example of their music while on a talk show, they don't get even 5 minutes of interview time? Just something that's always bugged me.
And Dingo, trust me, I have nothing against either Cruz or Stamos. Their interviews will certainly be entertaining..I don't think I'm even going to MIND sitting through the rest of the show...Oh, former Uncle Jessie...
I don't have anything against Jay, and I realize how these shows work. I was just hoping Al would get to talk. It really doesn't bother me very much. Al still gets to perform, which is going to be awesome. Nobody should take this as some sort of dis against Al. Musical guests on The Tonight Show are rarely interviewed, even the ones who go triple platinum, so Al's not being treated badly or anything.
Ok, where in this thread was it mentioned that Al for sure will not get to talk to Jay, or are you all assuming he won't, because he's a musical guest?
We know because of the format of The Tonight Show. Jay usually has 3 guests. He interviews 2, and the other is a musical guest. Jay has 2 other guests that night, which means Al will only be performing, unless Jay decides to alter his format for some reason.
Oh, ok. I suppose you're right. He didn't really talk to Ben Folds, either, but at least he shook his hand and said "Nice job", and said something nice to Al. Maybe Al will at least get a "That was great" or something like that. Hey, at least he's gonna be on, right?

I certainly hope so...After this performance, I wouldn't be surprised if everyone went crazy..it's going to be difficult for Al, but I know he can pull it off!!
Yeah, I'm not really surprised Al won't be interviewed. I was really doubting it would happen. I've been watching the Tonight Show for a while and I have no recollection of a musical guest being interviewed beforehand.
I think it's nice the way it is because the interviews do last for a while and aren't cut short and you get a whole song for a performance.
I can't wait for the performance!
