Here is the abbreviated list of CONCERT PICTURES ANSWERS:

Photo #01 -- Adam WEST (as Batman)
Photo #02 -- BERMUDA grass
Photo #03 -- AL Sharpton
Photo #04 -- "So WEIRD"
Photo #05 -- "North By NorthWEST"
Photo #06 -- The BERMUDA Triangle
Photo #07 -- JAYwalking
Photo #08 -- AL Franken (as Stuart Smalley)
Photo #09 -- JIM WEST or "Wild Wild WEST"
Photo #10 -- JAY Leno (as the Crimson Chin)
Photo #11 -- JAY Sherman of "The Critic"
Photo #12 -- BERMUDA Flag
Photo #13 -- AL Bundy
Photo #14 -- JAY and Silent Bob
Photo #15 -- "WEST Side Story"
Photo #16 -- "WEIRD Science"
Photo #17 -- AL Capone
Photo #18 -- A pair of BERMUDA Shorts
Photo #19 -- Fat Albert and WEIRD Harold

And here are the CONCERT PICTURES CHALLENGE Answers [with Dr.Dad's infamous "explanations" ... ]

[Please keep in mind, I tried to get a wide variety of images, some that would be evident to the over-30 crowd, others that would instantly click with the 25-and-under group. I figured everyone would know at least one instantly, though knowing ALL would be very unusual.]

Photo #01 -- Adam WEST (as Batman)
Image
[Adam West is the *POW!* actor who is most *BAM!* [in]famous for portraying Batman in the *BLAM!* campy TV series "Batman" which *CRRRACCK!!* ran from 1966 to *OOOFF!* 1968. "Holy overused cliche', Batman!!" *!*]

Photo #02 -- BERMUDA grass
Image
This fast-growing thick grass is the main choice for home lawns as well as golf and sports turfs all throughout the southestern regions of the country. Okay, okay, I admit, this was probably the toughest one of the group out there. But hey, if you knew it was grass, then what did you THINK it was? WEIRD grass??? JAY grass???]

Photo #03 -- AL Sharpton
Image
[Anybody from around New York City knows this guy. He's the "Rev"! Reverend Alfred Sharpton is a Pentacostal minister turned political street activist. Witty and intelligent but outspoken and controversial, he's now running as a candidate for the Democratic Party presidential nomination for 2004. You know, he might have a chance at winning -- I'm inclined to pick any man brave enough to let himself be couiffed in a James Brown pompadour.]

Photo #04 -- "So WEIRD"
Image
[I left the Disney logo at the bottom right corner in as another clue. This was a Disney Channel series called "So Weird" that the younger players might remember that ran between 1999 and 2001. It was about a girl named Fiona "Fi" Phillips (played by Cara DeLizia, in the picture) on tour with her rock star mom Annie (MacKenzie Phillips from "One Day At A Time"), who keeps finding weird paranormal and supernatural phenomena wherever she goes. Kind of what it's like watching a Prince concert.]

Photo #05 -- "North By NorthWEST"
Image
[The classic 1959 Hitchcock thriller in which Roger O. Thornhill (played by Cary Grant), an advertising executive, is mistaken for a spy and is pursued around the country by other spies. It has a spectacular end chase sequence on top of Mount Rushmore! But by far the movie's most famous scene is this one where Cary Grant is being chased in a field by a biplane. HEY CARY! -- Why don't you just DUCK?!?!?]

Photo #06 -- The BERMUDA Triangle
Image
[That's the triangular area between Miami, FL; San Juan, Puerto Rico; and (amazingly enough ...) Bermuda, in which an unusually high number of ships and planes are believed to have been lost in ... never to return again. Ooh, so creeeeeeepy ...]

Photo #07 -- JAYwalking
Image
[Notice these people are crossing the street ... but NOT at an officially designated crosswalk!! *GASP!* QUICK!! SOMEBODY CALL THE COPS!!]

Photo #08 -- AL Franken (as Stuart Smalley)
Image
[Veteran writer and occasional bit player on "Saturday Night Live", Al Franken created on SNL the character of eccentric and fey self-help guru Stuart Smalley, who has his own program "Daily Affirmations By Stuart Smalley". Stuart, as you all know, is "a caring nurturer, a member of several twelve-step programs, but not a licensed therapist". Why did we include Stuart? Well, it's because "I'm good enough, I'm smart enough and doggone it, people like me."]

Photo #09 -- JIM WEST or "Wild Wild WEST"
Image
[This 1999 movie, which was a remake of the TV series of the same name (1965-1969), starred Will Smith (above) as -- yes -- JIM WEST and Kevin Kline as Artemis Gordon. Set in the 1880's but with touches of sci-fi, the movie follows these two guys, the two best hired guns in the West, who must save President Grant from the clutches of a 19th century inventor-villain -- hey, these guys battled a 100 foot giant mechanical spider in the middle of the desert, aight??]

Photo #10 -- JAY Leno (as the Crimson Chin)
Image
[Yes, the famous lantern-jawed talk show host with the Noo Yawk accent provides the voice of this most unusual superhero named the Crimson Chin in the current animated series (2001 - present) on Nickelodeon "The Fairly Oddparents". Never mind what his superpowers are, I'm still trying to figure out why he's called the Crimson CHIN ... ... :P ]

That's all the images WOWAY will let me include in a single post. The other photos are in the next post which immediately follows.

And now, here's the rest of the images ... and "explanations" ...

Photo #11 -- JAY Sherman of "The Critic"
Image
["Saturday Night Live" alumnus Jon Lovitz provided the voice of lonely New York movie critic Jay Sherman on the hilarious FOX TV series "The Critic" between 1994 and 1995, now rerunning on Comedy Central and available on DVD. "It STINKS!!"]

Photo #12 -- BERMUDA Flag
Image
[Yes, this is indeed the official flag of the small Caribbean island country of Bermuda. ... And that's all I have to say about that ... mon ...]

Photo #13 -- AL Bundy
Image
[Ed O'Neill plays Al Bundy, a misanthropic women's shoe salesman with a miserable life and a wildly dysfunctional family in the long running (1987-1997) FOX TV series "Married ... With Children". And as Al B. always said, "It's only a game if you win, but if you lose, it's a stinking waste of time."]

Photo #14 -- JAY and Silent Bob
Image
[Okay, Jason Mewes and Kevin Smith play the two stoners named Jay and Silent Bob who are out to ruin a movie in production which is based on the characters of Jay and Silent Bob themselves in the 2001 movie "Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back", which was written and directed by ... Kevin Smith. Sound confusing? Dude, think of how confused the STONERS are!!]

Photo #15 -- "WEST Side Story"
Image
[This is part of a movie poster for the classic 1961 movie musical starring Natalie Wood in a modern (for the sixties) version of Romeo & Juliet. It's not too often you see gang members breaking out in song spontaneously.]

Photo #16 -- "WEIRD Science"
Image
[This cult classic 1985 flick starred Anthony Michael Hall and Kelly LeBrock and was the movie in which a couple of unpopular science nerds decide to create the perfect woman with their computer. (Unfortunately, due to a rather nasty computer virus, their computer instead created ... Roseanne Barr. J/K ...)]

Photo #17 -- AL Capone
Image
[This still is from the movie poster for the 1987 movie "The Untouchables", in which Kevin Costner and Sean Connery try to take down legendary crime boss Al Capone, played here by Robert De Niro (whose mole really does look ten feet wide!)]

Photo #18 -- A pair of BERMUDA Shorts
Image
[A classic pair of the real deal -- Bermuda shorts are the national attire for Bermuda natives, though in reality only the dress kind of shorts. These shorts are worn anytime in Bermuda, whether working in the yard, going to a soccer game, or meeting the queen. This is the item that prompted Al to rename our beloved Jon in 1981. (Let's hope Jon took it as a compliment.)]

Photo #19 -- Fat Albert and WEIRD Harold
Image
["Na na na, gonna have a good time ... HEY HEY HEY!!" This was NOT an AL picture, but I kept Fat Albert in as reference. The TV show is of course the Saturday morning cartoon show "Fat Albert And The Cosby Kids" (1972-1979). The guy with the arrow near his head is Fat Albert's pal known as -- Weird Harold. And if you'd even watched the show, you'd know about him ... and Bill and Russell and Rudy and Mush Mouth and ... and ... the kid with the purple ski cap over his face ... and ... uhh ... Aw, just take my word for it ... ]

and our "Sudden Death" tiebreaker photo:

Photo #27 -- "The WEST Wing"
Image
[The classy and fast-paced Emmy-winning TV series about the lives of the staff and in the White House began in 1999 and is still running today; among its many stars is Martin Sheen (pictured above), who portrays President 'Jed' Bartlet.]

There we go. *whew* :F

Well, this was a wilder Challenge than I had expected. I thought I'd anticipated most every twist or problem that this Challenge could throw at me ... but obviously not. My sincerest apologies. We'll get it right next time.

Here is the transcript of tonight's Tribal Council Chat #3 with Petroleum Joe members DrSteggy, stupidsurgeon27 [CindyBob], TheMeccaOfAlbinoPoodles [Mecca-JOE], and WeirdAlFanatic27 [PrincessBob27]. Tribe member Alberta27 was still out of town.

The chat took place on Friday, July 2 at about 10:40 PM EST.

<DocProbst> Welcome, Petroleum Joes, to your first Tribal Council.

<Mecca-JOE> My third....

<DrSteggy> hah

<PrincessBob27> hehe

<CindyBob> Ditto.

<DocProbst> Of course, for SOME of you, it's NOT your first.

<Mecca-JOE> THANK you for FINALLY mentioning us.

<DocProbst> So, first question out of the box tonight ...

<Mecca-JOE> But you TURNED THE TABLES on us, and now we're BACK WHERE WE STARTED!

<DocProbst> ... What was the general reaction to the Tribal Shuffle?

<CindyBob> Shock.

<Mecca-JOE> I was suprised, but sniped over to change my patriotic avy.

<DrSteggy> Surprise initially, but then I just dealt with it

<Mecca-JOE> Not "Tense Survivor Music" suprised, a little shaken.

<DocProbst> Do you know of anyone who was out-and-out upset over it?

<Mecca-JOE> ....I don't

<DrSteggy> no

<CindyBob> Nope.

<PrincessBob27> I was suprised about it

<PrincessBob27> nope

<PrincessBob27> lol

<DocProbst> Like "I'm notplaying this anymore"-kind of upset?

<DrSteggy> oh no

<DocProbst> Good.

<DocProbst> It was meant to shake things up; that's all.

<DrSteggy> consider it shaken

<Mecca-JOE> Not stirred.

<DocProbst> And I guess it did ... LOL

<PrincessBob27> hehe

<DocProbst> You do realize four of the eight CBS Survivor shows had similar tribal shuffles??

<DrSteggy> vaguely

<Mecca-JOE> EIGHT? Man, that show should've been cancelled LONG AGO!

<DocProbst> Have you gotten to know your new tribe mates yet?

<Mecca-JOE> But nude Richard Hatch kept the show alive..... ew.

<CindyBob> No. I've never seen the show on TV.

<Mecca-JOE> Yeah, I've gotten to know everyone but Alberts.

<PrincessBob27> well, to tell you the truth, I've never seen it

<DrSteggy> a bit, except for Alberta

<Mecca-JOE> I've dabbled in it

<CindyBob> Yep, gotten to know everyone...except Alberta.

<PrincessBob27> same here

<Mecca-JOE> Rosie O'Donnell coming in on the.... bike thing at the end of Survivor 1 is my first memory

<DocProbst> Which made the Shuffle even more of a surprise -- since most of you HADN'T seen the show

<DrSteggy> actually, I had a suspicion you were up to something like this after reading the transcript of the last TC

<DocProbst> Do you think the Shuffle will help you make new alliances, or will you stick with ones you made before?

<DrSteggy> We Shall See

<DocProbst> Ah, you noticed that, Jackie, did ya???

<Mecca-JOE> I had NO alliances, and it'll probably stay that way

<Mecca-JOE> I'm the lone ranger.

<DrSteggy> I make my living onobservations

<DocProbst> LOL

<CindyBob> I have an alliance with my pillow. Oh, people? I don't know about sticking or making anymore. When I feel better, I'll let my brain think.

<DocProbst> Okay ... what about the Challenge $3 itself?

<PrincessBob27> meh,

<DocProbst> #3 ... LOL

<DrSteggy> I like dit

<DrSteggy> I wish I could type

<CindyBob> I liked challenged #3!

<PrincessBob27> i enjoyed it!

<Mecca-JOE> It was a nice challenge. Unlimited I Love The 80's viewings led me to get WEIRD Science

<DocProbst> Good!

<Mecca-JOE> JAY sherman is one of my favorite characters

<CindyBob> I was going insane, already answering two and knowing #17!

<DrSteggy> I like Hitchcock

<PrincessBob27> the Adam WEST one was just a guess on my part

<DrSteggy> and BTW I DO know my range/forage plants but that was a terrible example of Bermuda grass

<DocProbst> I REALLY wanted to do that one, but as you see it needed even numbered teams ... hence another reason for the Shuffle ...

<CindyBob> Though...our 5th member was gone.

<Mecca-JOE> And we still lost....

<DocProbst> It was, wasn't it, Jackie ...but is there a GOOD picture of Bermuda grass??

<DrSteggy> I am sure I have one!

<DocProbst> Well, I know Alberta27 wasn't here for the Challenge ... but the original Joes had an opportunity to replace her, but did not.

<DrSteggy> yeah and she coulda fallen to the other team just as easily

<DocProbst> Any comments?

<DocProbst> Ture

<DocProbst> True

<Mecca-JOE> DARN YOU, ORIGINAL JOES!

<DocProbst> LOL

<PrincessBob27> lol

<DocProbst> There's always one ....

<Mecca-JOE> And your BAD JUDGEMENT..... I should YELL at you all... But I won't.

<DrSteggy> don't make me beat you at Westbury, Mecca

<DocProbst> I thought SOMEBODY would figure out the flag was that of Bermuda ... but apparently not ...

<DrSteggy> ILY did...too late!

<DrSteggy> hahahaha

<DrSteggy> ah

<CindyBob> YOu think they covered Bermuda in World Geography in high school? Ha!

<DocProbst> Or would recognize Bob De Niro from the Untouchables poster ...

<CindyBob> I did! I did!

<DocProbst> LOL ... Good for you, Cindy!

<CindyBob> Thus my complaining about wanting to answer more than 2.

<DocProbst> You see why it was better as a team challenge ... a single individual coulda swept it in nothing flat ...

<DrSteggy> yes it was an interesting combo f a team and individual challenge

<DocProbst> But Cindy, that's part of working as a TEAM ...

<CindyBob> I know.

<CindyBob> I just really wanted to answer that one. lol.

<DocProbst> Okay, on with the questions ...

<Mecca-JOE> Okay!

<Mecca-JOE> Oh, KNOWING IS HALF THE BATTLE, Cindybob

<DrSteggy> he-Man?

<Mecca-JOE> the other half is holding yourself back from answering the question.

<Mecca-JOE> GI Joe. Close!

<DocProbst> Does everyone have a clear idea on who they are voting out? No names are necessary!!

<DrSteggy> oh I do

<CindyBob> Yes.

<PrincessBob27> yes

<Mecca-JOE> I know

<DocProbst> Wow ... that didn't take long!

<CindyBob> Yay. I have permission to go die now?

<DrSteggy> work was long and hellacious today

<DrSteggy> I'd like to go sleep soon too

<DocProbst> We have one more Challenge before you all merge into one tribe; will you be ready for our next Challenge on Monday, July 12th?

<Mecca-JOE> Yes

<CindyBob> Yep.

<DrSteggy> hell yeah

<CindyBob> Week before I leave. ^_^

<Mecca-JOE> I will be chock full of concert stories from next thursday

<DrSteggy> ME TOO

<DrSteggy> and frm Wed, and Sunday

<DocProbst> Will the fact that it is another creativity Challenge concern any of you?

<DrSteggy> oh heck no

<Mecca-JOE> No

<Mecca-JOE> And we'll have stories of MEETING EACHOTHER and it'll be really awkward

<DocProbst> Good.

<CindyBob> I get creative on spurts...

<PrincessBob27> nope

<PrincessBob27> hehe

<Mecca-JOE> "Hey! I met Kevin!" "Hey! I met Jackie!"

<DrSteggy> OMG we know what we look like in RL!

<DocProbst> Well, I will post the Announcement for TC Voting in the Game Play thread as soon as I transcribe this chat.

<DrSteggy> ok

<CindyBob> Yay.

<DrSteggy> nighties

<PrincessBob27> okie dokie

<CindyBob> Permission to die now, right?

<Mecca-JOE> I look like a fat nerd with glasses, basically

<CindyBob> Night, Jackie.

<Mecca-JOE> I'm nerd Major in Spider-Man

<DocProbst> But if you guys want to vote right now and get it over with, I welcome your votes via WOWAY PM.

<PrincessBob27> nite

<Mecca-JOE> Kay, I'm on my way

<PrincessBob27> okie doie

<Mecca-JOE> See everybody soon

<DocProbst> The voting will end Sunday night at 8 PM EST.

<CindyBob> Okay-ee.

<DocProbst> Tahnks for being in Tribal Council Chat, everyone!!

<Mecca-JOE> Anytime, Doctor Doctor.

OFFICIAL ANNOUNCEMENT
===================

[Click here to get in the proper spirit of the game.]

Image

Welcome to TRIBAL COUNCIL.

This is where you will answer for your actions and your contributions to the tribe. Please take a torch and light it in the fire.

At tribal council, fire represents life on the island. As long as your torch is lit, you will remain in the game. When the fire goes out, you go home. Well ... okay ... maybe you ARE home already ... but you're out of the game anyways.

This is how we'll vote:

Each of you will send me a Private Message through WOWAY with the name of the person you want to vote out of the tribe. Please use their actual SCREENNAME [NOT their real name or any Survivor nickname you may have for them], so that it will be easier for me to tally the votes. You can include a reason if you'd like, but it is not necessary, and no comments in your note to me will be mentioned to anyone else during this Tribal Council. PLEASE NOTE: If any Tribe Members fail to vote by the end of Tribal Council, their vote will count as an automatic vote against them. Once all the votes have been cast, or once the time deadline for Tribal Council has passed, I will tally and then read the votes.

NOTE: For this round, Tribal Council will officially end on Sunday, July 4, 2004 at 8:00 PM Eastern Daylight Time!

PETROLEUM JOE Tribe, start voting. Remember to vote for someone from YOUR OWN TRIBE!

SQUID HAT Tribe, you need not do anything until the next Immunity Challenge. Check the Survivor Challenge Schedule on the first page of this thread for the day and time of that challenge. Watch for TREE MAIL. It will be posted here in the Game Play thread sometime between the conclusion of Tribal Council and the next challenge.

TRIBE MEMBERS ELIGIBLE TO BE VOTED OUT THIS ROUND:

It is time for you to vote.

And if there are any more questions specifically about Tribal Council, please ask in this topic.
