Someone has to know well in advance, unless they engrave the awards later.

Is anyone else going to tape the show just in case? I'm trying to decide if I should tape the awards ceremony or the red carpet thing. I can't do both.

People who win get an unengraved Grammy, then they have to give it back to get it engraved.

My TV listing says the E! red carpet thing lasts from 6-8 and the Awards last from 8 to whenever. Most VCRs can be programmed to tape 2 different channels at 2 different times. If I tape anything, it'll only be the parts I'm personally interested in -- like Al on the red carpet, the Beatles and Warren Zevon tributes, and if I'm lucky I'll catch the blurb of who won the comedy Grammy.

Oh, good point. I need to scrounge up a new VCR tape today. Just in case.

Good luck Al! I was listening to snippets from the other nominees' albums on amazon.com, and I really don't think any of them are very funny. Al is WAY funnier than all of them combined. Knock 'em dead Al!

I'll record the whole pre-show and show itself, so if it works, I'll be glad to share.

BTW, my homepage is CNN, and their question/poll of the day is:

"Will you watch the Grammies tonight?"

Results: 15% yes
85% no
