No offense to those who like Tom Green, but I've never been so thankful for the fast forward button in my life!
That show left me feeling very sad for Tom. I know he's had some
(well-publicized) personal problems, but I kept finding myself just shaking
my head in
disbelief. I'll admit I'm easily amused, but nothing at all (besides Al) was remotely funny to me.
I'd never head the LASIK/contact lens story before (very amusing), and Al's "can you hear me now?" with the tin can bit was also funny, but that whole tin can interview bit was just dumb and a waste of Al's valuable interview time.
Al was as personable, friendly and charismatic as always, and it just made me wonder even more..."Geez, if Tom Green can have his own talk show, why can't Al?!?"

What a good interview! Al being Al, and not Weird at all! I agree the tin can thing was a waste of interview time. But all in all, I think Tom managed to pull off a good interview. Which isn't easy(interviewing... not talking to Al.) Which makes his other idiocy all that much sadder.
Al looked VERY thin. More so than usual.
Hey, mama bears care about this stuff...
And file this under those annoying, mind-numbingly dull details that only the really rabid fans care about: Al wasn't wearing Vans. He was wearing these shoes.

I like how Al tried to play along with Tom on the can thing, but then just sort of gave up. But I dont know, they had about 20 minutes of Aisha Tyler who was very odd, she seemed to be playing off the audience, even though they weren't reacting to her. Seems that time could have been better spent on, oh I dunno, AL!!!!!!! But the ET thing was pretty durn funny.

Actually...the crowd didn't react to much of anything that night.

That's what I thought, too. They started out saying what a good audience
they had and how everyone was so excited, and then it seemed to turn into a regular "
Valley of Death". Half the time no one seemed to know if Tom was trying to be funny or making a serious statement. I've sort of felt sorry for him all day today, which is not a good way to view a comedian.
I also wish Tom hadn't spent so much of Al's interview time on his childhood "Eat It" story. No one seemed to understand what that was about either. I certainly didn't
But, OTOH, he did plug the CD and show the cover, so that's a point in his favor.

My cable doesn't have MTV, I couldn't go over to my grandma's to see it and my other friend (with different cable) was out of town, so I didn't get to see it.
Sounds like an interesting interview, though.
