Our song is not political. It is about a longtime known pop culture icon who happens to be running for president, pushing him to the front of the public spectrum.

you should have tried defending yourself and maybe you wouldn't be on the outside looking in. ;)

Do you think Al would release a song about someone currently running for office in an active, upcoming election?
Stop
Wait a minute
White House needs a republican in it

There's a saying "The truth is born in argument". There's nothing wrong in a healthy argument, especially when a subject is as harmless as a game :) . You should be flattered we're actually pissed, instead of being all like "whatever, good riddance"

Topical is good but topical with regards to politics? Has he ever done that? Would he ever do that?

There's always a first time, especially when one of the candidates is so outspoken. Now, without the restrictions of producing albums, Al may do more songs ala "Whatever You Like" that are currently number one. He could definitely put out a hit song about Donald Trump when the election is hot. I know several Mitt Romney-themed parodies came out last election on Youtube.

But that's purely speculation and does not fit with anything Al has done in the past. I stand by the assertion that our...lawyer made that it did not meet the criteria of being something that Al would choose (unless you are speculating that he would do something new and out of character).

With all due respect, of course. ;)

again you are presuming that what we wrote is overtly political. again we must say that it is not overtly political, and thus could be something new and different that Al would write about. in this upcoming post-12 song album era it will be interesting to see what Al does, and I do believe that what we came up with is reasonable and would be a welcomed topic by his fans. apparently ToasterBoy also believed this. since he was the judge your lawyers arguments are no longer necessary.

years ago people may have said Al would never write a song about a nuclear holocaust, but he made it work.
