I don't get the joke in Al's recent tweet about Carrot Top.
I know who Carrot Top is, and I know how his appearance has changed in recent years.

I don't get the "free speech hero or traitor/serial rapist" joke....can anyone explain?

I didn't understand the Carrot-Top tweet either. I figured that was because of being English again, but I'm not sure anyone got it did they?

Whew! Glad to know I was not the only one. I *do* know it was a joke unlike some of his other followers..

It is in reference to the controvery surrounding Wikileaks founder Julian Assange.

The joke is that it sounds like he's talking about Julian Assange, the founder of Wikileaks, but then he says he's referring to Carrot Top instead. There is perhaps slightly more to it, in that Assange was arrested in the UK just a few hours before Al tweeted that, so no doubt it is a major story in London.

Who everyone knows is actually Carrot Top.

Or, Al has some pretty secret dirt on Carrot Top that he's very anxious to get out there.
