Dec 12th is not a Friday the winter solstice or the anniversary of any volcanic eruptions, so... no.

It could be a clue that the album will be delayed until 2017

I didn't notice anything significant in Al-related history on Wikipedia regarding December 12, though I'll defer to Greg for that full analysis on that, so I think it's just a random date. I would hope if there was a new album coming three weeks from now, we would have heard something about it already.

On a separate note, I did enjoy Al and Suzanne's series of tweets from Maui. It was cool as I was just there at the beginning of the month and I instantly recognized a lot of the places they posted pictures from. A few, I'm pretty sure I have the same exact picture myself!

I think al just remembered the traditional December 1st countdown start of "only 24 days until Christmas" and counted out what was 24 days.

And Dave, it's a good thing you took your vacation earlier. Can you imagine walking down the beach and just bumping into al? I think he'd invite you for a picnic after his initial shock wore off
