Actually I agree.

It makes more sense to put it in the polka than make a parody of it for some reason... I dunno why. I know it would sound pretty awesome though.

Yea, I think that IKAG would be better in the polka as compared to a parody. If he parodied it, then something tells me he would be doing something that someone has done before and it wouldn't be all that great (*cough*MyIKissedASquirrelforexample*cough*)...:P

haha, speaking of which, the announcing of WYL on his MySpace blogs insinuated he actually read some of the comments on his page. (When he pretended that IKAG was the song he parodied.) I thought it was kind of funny.

Maybe he could do something stupid like an I Kissed A Squirrel tease during the encore on the tour to get a few laughs. I mean, that's what he did with "Cellphones!"

That'd be cool, but I don't know...people (the non-hardcore Al fans) would be going crazy. "OH MY GOD!! Al parodied Katy Perry!!"

*Totally Unrelated Note*
For the new album, who would you like to see Al interview for the new AL-TV?

Yeah that's true... what would the parody even be?

"I Kissed A Squirrel"? "I'm Gonna Hurl"?

The ultimate punchline for any Weird Al rendition of I Kissed A Girl would simply be a man's voice singing the lyrics of the chorus. This is why the polka would be the ideal placement.

Think about Weird Al's voice singing:
I kissed a girl and I liked it
The taste of her cherry chapstick
I kissed a girl just to try it
I hope my boyfriend don't mind it
It felt so wrong
It felt so right
Don't mean I'm in love tonight
I kissed a girl and I liked it
I liked it

Not sure if it would be just the first half, or that whole thing, but regardless that's about all the comic mileage he could get out of the song, in my opinion.

He's done it a lot before in the polkas, so it seems just about right... what with the female vocals in the Berlin song in Polkas on 45 and Don'tcha on Polkarama!

I agree that IKAG would fit best in a polka but the proverbial ship hasn't sailed for a parody just because WYL was released. Just because Al releases one of his iTunes songs doesn't mean that every song that was a hit before it is automatically out of the running.

But "Hot N Cold" is better anyway :P

I agree, anth, but at the same time it would feel extremely stale to have a hit from so long ago appear on an album that will be out at the earliest a year from now. When he included a parody of "I Want It That Way" on PH, at least that song was an all-time classic hit that will be remembered for decades to come.
