As I've been thinking about Al's latest Simpsons bit, I realized it's more evidence of what a good sport he is-- he let the Simpsons writers parody HIM. The "Brain Freeze" snippet included both of the things that people mention when they diss Al: a random food reference and a random TV reference. It's as though Al never released anything but cheesy compilation albums.
"Weird Al" has a charisma that's all his own. The awkward, the misshapen, the socially inept flock to his banner.

I'm sure Al's fine with it. My parents have had one of their movies made fun of in The Simpsons, and they were thrilled.
Your parents make movies famous enough to be mentioned on The sompsons?

They weren't made fun of in The Sompsons, they're still trying to accomplish that, but they were made fun of in The Simpsons.
My parents weren't mentioned themselves, but my mom wrote The Hand That Rocks The Cradle and my dad produced it, and it was made fun of in The Simpsons episode with Otto's girlfriend.
