Dr. Demento popped up on CNN this morning talking about George Carlin.

(I know he has other things he does and is a fan of other music besides the stuff he plays, but it's just odd seeing him talking about things besides Al)
You have quickly thought up such matchless phrase?

D'you suppose this is Patton Oswalt's graduation speech as actually delivered? And is this Patton Oswalt's LJ?

Bonus Weird Al reference in the speech text.
"Weird Al" has a charisma that's all his own. The awkward, the misshapen, the socially inept flock to his banner.

"I did!"
"Me neither...wait..."

If I had $10,000...I'd bail you out...

Ok, I guess that was a low bl--er, a bit unfair of me.

ETA: Just read the Patton Oswalt speech. Haha, he went to my high school.

Great that they made a children's album...while they were still trusted.

Don't play it backward, kiddies!

"Nymphomaniac is back on crack
It's like 'When Animals Attack'
They all exhibit reprehensible behavior"

Just to make it clear...I still like the band.

Too bad it was cocaine and not pot. Pot would have given the title of "Snacktime" more meaning.

I was gonna say that this was high time to promote a children's album, but alas, one can only do so much.

This disturbs me for two reasons: 1) the revelation that Steven Page might be a cokehead, and 2) the idea that they'd lock him up just for THAT.

If coke had ANYTHING to do with the song "Upside Down," then sign me up.
Just gonna stand there and watch me burn...that's alright because I like the way it hurts...

I still find it funny that they were able to release a children's album under the name "Barenaked Ladies."
