I would call it more of a satire on rap's recurring theme of conspicuous consumption, but I see what this person is getting at.TMBJon wrote:Whether or not you like the song, it is a brilliant social satire.PlayAWarGame wrote:He thinks it's a brilliant social satire. Seriously.

I am very surprised at the negative reaction WYL has been getting. I heard it and loved it. I laughed more at that song than anything else on Internet Leaks. Skipper Dan is still my favorite because it was very well done, but as far as humor goes, WYL was the funniest I've heard so far. Maybe it IS because I'm in poverty (family of 4 and $12,000 per year) but I thought it would be universally humorous. Is it just the style that makes this song disliked?

Yeah that's kind of how I felt too. When it came out a lot of the stuff in the song was super relevant to my life. One time I showed it to my mom and declared it her theme song, and then I laughed and laughed. I was cool when I was thirteenjoseyklein wrote:That song is more culturally relevant to some people not all, the ones like myself that have been significantly impacted by the economy probably find it more funny than the ones that are more well off. I get all the jokes and they're funny to me, cause Im in a poverish kind of situation, slowly coming out of it, but the humor jumps out at me more significantly,
Was in the shower when it got leaked. almost spinned my ankle & dead with my head crack opened #StealMyGirlLeaked #StealMyGirlIsPerfect

I personally find it easier to laugh at others than laugh at myself, but that might just be me.

I go both ways on that one... I laugh just as hard at myself as I do at others

Now that the last two parody subjects have been confirmed, I think Al will have some fun with "Nothin' On You" and it couldn't possibly turn out to be his worst track. My vote still goes to "Ringtone"...for now.

I agree. I love Queen, I love Al, but I just didn't like "Ringtone" for some reason.Killingsworth wrote:Now that the last two parody subjects have been confirmed, I think Al will have some fun with "Nothin' On You" and it couldn't possibly turn out to be his worst track. The video for it was funny though, wasn't it? My vote still goes to Party in the CIA, and it will probably be the correct prediction as usual.
How old was that last signature? I mean, really?

I'll say, none of them will be the worst track... come on, this is Al we're talking about, have a little faith
