It was mentioned in the 3FM studio visit of Al in the morning that the concert was a sell-out.It's an icy cold night in Amsterdam. While the fans have the first hours in the cold for Paradiso order to score a ticket
TheWildborne and I were the first to arrive at Paradiso that day , around 14.45 hours . Nobody was there . So we went for a Walk through the streets of Amsterdam , to eat a little bit , to buy a Al(bum) . We arrived again around 16.30 hours and there was a woman stand by the entry . So we went for a to eat a bigger snack , just acrossed Paradiso . Just like 2 other people who came to see Al . Just after 5 went to Paradiso to post ourselves a really good entrypositing . Steve stood outside talking to another fan , and walked a few minutes later away eastwards into Amsterdam . Around 6 ,Paradiso people came outside calling for VIP ticketbuyers to check the list and to give us a paperbracelet so they could enter the venue 15 minutes earlier than the other attenders . Around 18.45 hours there were around 70 people standing at the entrance . We went in through the sidedoor and went to the place where we wanted to see the concert . I phoned Bart , he was almost in Amsterdam and said to keep a spot free for him and Anya . In the mean time Steve walked through the building ,talked to some persons and went backstage . The building was getting fuller and fuller and the tension rose when the clock was nearing 20.30 hours .
And then the video was started and all went well and Al rocked the place immediately and the crowd also was fantastic and gave a good response all the evening long . Laughing during the videoshowing while the band costumechanges .
The girls got their treat during Want to B Ur Lover and some of them were a bit shy when he came close with them , the shyest girl close to the right saw AL after the concert . She was less shy then .
A big applaus/cheer was there when Leslie Nielsen was on the videoscreen.
At the afterparty , where the hell were al the VIP's ??? , but only 7 people were below in the where it was held . Jon was there briefly , he was very tired and needed a good night sleep before he flew home the next day . Bart got some damaged , broken drumsticks . Immediately saying that he found them a crappy brand ( with a smile ) . Al was much longer at the Afterpartytalk . He talked to the family first , Mom and Dad , and 2 children which 1 of them was wheelchaired . She spoke to AL and got their pictures with Al . Then Al came to Bart , sat at our table and spoke to Bart .
Bart asked Al to watch a video on bart cellphone and asked Al to record a special message for one of our members of this board , so Bart could send it to that member .
Maybe Bart will show this message when this person has seen it first .
After that some other attenders had there share of getting autographs off and pictures with Al . It was after 12 when Al left . His flight back home was at 07.00 hours . I think his sleeping will have been on the plain.
Great night , 1 which will be long in our memories . Up to the next time he's over here.

Paradiso? Is that next to the Van Gogh Museum and the Rijksmuseum?
We were there a year and a half ago.
I am glad that you had a wonderful time!

Konnen Sie auch Deutsch sprechen? Mehr einfach als English?
I am glad that you had a wonderful time! Das soll es sein!
Rijksmuseum is about 400 yards and the Van Gogh Museum 800 yards away from Paradiso .

I was there too! I've been a fan for decades but like most Dutch people this was my first time seeing Al live. This is also my first time on the forum, someone in the audience mentioned it to me. I laughed so hard that night I ached the next day! Also got a bit emotional during the first song haha! This concert was better than I could have ever imagined and it was truly one of the best shows I have ever seen! Every song was perfect and I loved the big screen with the videos. I was near the front and Al sang to me during 'Lovr'. I got shy but then the nice boys I hid behind pushed me towards Al and he came back to me when he was in the audience too
Got to talk to him after the show too and he is really the nicest guy ever! A kind person backstage took some pictures for me which I will treasure forever! Talked to Stephen too and he said they would probably be back within two years which made me really happy! Next time I will go to the England shows too! Now I am going to print out some pix from the gig and make a collage with the square confetti I found in my bag and clothes afterwards

Then you stood close to me . I wore a t-shirt with European dates and had long white sleeve . You stood a bit behind me and then beside me and at the end in front of me ( all to right of me ).
Ath the afterparty you came down to have an autograph from and a photo with Al . I sat at the table with WHiZZI and his wife Anya when you passed us . The shyness was quiet a bit less than during Want to B Ur Lover.
It was nice to see that there were soo many fan of AL in the Netherlands and Germany in Amsterdam .

Yes, he wasn't a creepy lounge lizard afterwards haha! I was still quite shy though to be honest.running with Dutch windmills wrote: The shyness was quiet a bit less than during Want to B Ur Lover.
When it was my turn to get my autograph and picci, Al said 'Heyy don't be so shyyy' and gave me a winning smile so I was fine then

I didn't see anyone else at the time because I was in a daze so forgive me if I didn't notice you there!
