This parody reminds me of something I would have written in 5th grade.

I'm Gonna Get Rejected

Original Song

She’s the top pick girl for me, have no chance
I’m gonna get rejected
She’s a very pretty lady I’d like to romance
I’m gonna get rejected
I’ll get real brave and ask her to my place
I’m gonna get rejected
She’ll call me a crock and slap me in my face
I’m gonna get rejected
Rejected
Rejected

I felt really nervous, I acted real smooth
I’m gonna get rejected
I said “I lost my home, can I stay in your room?”
I don’t think we connected
Neglected
Rejected

I’m gonna lose this one, she’s acting way too calm
I’m gonna get rejected
“You will meet my mother, you’ll get along!”
I finally got selected!
Selected
Selected
Selected, connected, unexpected
I finally got selected, selected

Who Really Cares?

After watching the E! network for an hour, I finally realized...
Image
Original Song

Who really cares about Lindsay?
Or all those tools from New Jersey
On the TV, and who cares about Britney?
And that Hannah Montana, I mean Miley
The cameras, the cameras
The cameras, the cameras show everything
Show everything
Show everything

What happened to all the heroes?
Now we are stuck with the zeroes, Kardashian
Lindsay Lohan
Paris Hilton

Paparazzi
Drive me crazy
Stop it for me

Who really cares about Gaga?
Or Ashlee with her nose job?
It don’t phase me, Heidi and Spencer-please stop
Heidi and Spencer- please stop, you’re bugging me
The cameras, the cameras.

Who really cares ‘bout Mel Gibson?
Or LeBron leaving Cleveland
So annoying- like the Bachelorette drama
Or that Jon and Kate Gosslin- do you hear me?
The cameras, the cameras
The cameras, the cameras are everywhere
They’re everywhere
I just don’t care

Dear TMZ
Please don’t bug me
You annoy me

Not bad. One of your better parodies, I'd say. Will be pretty dated in a few months though, but then again I'm talking to the guy who wrote all those year-in-review parodies.

Original Song

Hands in now hands out
Legs in now back out
Back up back up
Spin around in a circle now

Hips in now hips out
Butt in now back out
Back up back up
Tell me what it’s all about now

The hokey pokey, hokey pokey
The hokey pokey, hokey pokey
The hokey pokey, hokey pokey
The hokey pokey, hokey pokey

Now everyone get in a circle right here
Everyone must keep the dance floor clear
We’re gonna do this, even if you don’t care
No Electric Slide, no musical chairs
All you guys, go on- get your chicks
For this awesome mix all for Doug’s twenty-sixth
So where the heck you at Doug?
Come on, step up
“Dude, shut the heck up
the hokey pokey is dumb!”
(Pfft...whatever Doug)

Hands in now hands out
Legs in now back out
Back up back up
Spin around in a circle now

Hips in now hips out
Butt in now back out
Back up back up
Tell me what it’s all about now

The hokey pokey, hokey pokey
The hokey pokey, hokey pokey
The hokey pokey, hokey pokey
The hokey pokey, hokey pokey

You wanna come do the pokey?- (“Nah”)
Don’t wanna do the pokey? Why?
“Because this song is dumb” (Huh?)
“Didn’t like it when I was five”- (Oh)
But this awesome song right here- (“Mmhmm”)
I’m just gonna play it all night- (“Wha?”)
So you better circle on up
Cause its Hokey Pokey time- (“Doh!”)

You all are painin’
But stop complainin’
24/7, I won’t take it off the playlist
Birthday parties,
Weddings blast this hot hit
This smash hit
Dance along, I won’t stop it
(Put your hands in)

Hands in now hands out
Legs in now back out
Back up back up
Spin around in a circle now

Hips in now hips out
Butt in now back out
Back up back up
Tell me what it’s all about now

The hokey pokey, hokey pokey
The hokey pokey, hokey pokey
The hokey pokey, hokey pokey
The hokey pokey, hokey pokey

Hey ladies, hey fellas
And the people that think this is dumb
All the young’ns, all the haters
Man all these people, is there nothing greater?
Grandmamas, granddaddies
Bustin’ moves, spinnin’ ‘round for the pokey
Teen boppers, young toddlers
And everybody all around the world

Hands in now hands out
Legs in now back out
Back up back up
Spin around in a circle now

Hips in now hips out
Butt in now back out
Back up back up
Tell me what it’s all about now

The hokey pokey, hokey pokey
The hokey pokey, hokey pokey
The hokey pokey, hokey pokey
The hokey pokey, hokey pokey

Hands in now hands out
Legs in now back out
Back up back up
Spin around in a circle now

Hips in now hips out
Butt in now back out
Back up back up
Tell me what it’s all about now

The hokey pokey, hokey pokey
The hokey pokey, hokey pokey
The hokey pokey, hokey pokey
The hokey pokey, hokey pokey

What percent of Weird Abbott parodies include the word "butt" in the lyrics? Seems sort of odd...

At any rate, congratulations on having your finger on the pulse of pop culture here with this parody of a ten year old song about a 70 year old dance.

That's a bit harsh, keep in mind our hero just recently did a "Doors" parody. I'm with ya on relevancy, but sometimes if a songs really well known and has stood the test of time, parodying it is okay. But I do agree with the premise of quality over quantity. Keep up the good work Abbott.

Of course, I completely agree with this. Yet we are talking about Limp Bizkit's "Rollin'."

Thing is, the Doors parody of which you speak is a style-parody. Not only that, but the Doors is an extraordinarily huge band that still has fans today.

But... Limp Bizkit? Rollin'? When was the last time anyone said anything about any of that? I mean, I'm not going to say that it's a bad parody or anything, but... For the concept... You couldn't find anything current?
