Yeah, definitely don't worry about the signatures. I wasn't able to collect any today either, since it was so hot..I decided not to go early. Sorry to hear about your son AM, hope he's alright. It was extremely hot today.

I got over to the Celeste Center around 6:30. Waited around for a bit, while listening to the house mix of pre-show music and met Kevin when he showed up. We chatted awhile, and then after a commercial Fun Zone hit.

It was really cool at this show. I was 4 rows right in the center directly in front of Al. So, it was a perfect seat. I was also right under the huge video screen, which throughout the night offered the different views that you get from those types of screens, and even had a PIP of the interpreter. She was so funny to watch sometimes throughout the night. It was also cool to see giant versions of the videos right above me.

The Canadian Idiot streamers blew right above me, although I was able to catch an I'll Sue Ya dollar, and a ton of confetti blew over on me.

Canadian Idiot for some reason was extremely awesome at this place. Not sure if it was just the placement of where I was or what, but it was the best looking performance I had seen of it. The rest of the concert was normal, except for Ruben missing a keyboard part in a song, but it was interesting that Steve filled it in on guitar. Bob was performed at this show.

After the concert was a really great experience. I really didn't expect much here since the busses were fenced in, it was so hot, and the band has to get on to Wilmington tomorrow. However, I first got to see Jim out by the main gate. Then, the fireworks show started as I was standing there, and in the middle of it, I looked over to my left and Ruben was standing there. So, we watched the rest of the show together. I then met Steve at the fence where he was signing autographs for people. Got to see Suzanne and Nina who had just gotten there according to Al when I met him around 20 minutes later. He came from the backstage area, and got on the bus. He then got back off quickly, came over, and signed autograhs. I had him sign my ticket for around the 10th time. Al laughed, and said "Again, man, I liked that flat last time. Alright, let's do something different." He then proceeded to sign my ticket, on the back and upside down. I love that about Al....I then asked him if he had got to show Suzanne or Nina the poodle yet, and he said that they had just got there, so he hadn't had the chance. Hopefully, they'll like it as well.

This turned out to be such a better night than I thought it would be. The heat was quite a factor burning up after it, but it was worth it with the Weird Al Experience again..and again...

9 days until Youngstown...can't wait!

I'm glad you had a good time, and had such a good seat. I'm glad you got to meet Jim, and later Steve at the fence. Watching fireworks with Rubén sounds pretty neat. Cool that you met Al, even with the heat factor. That's cool that he mentioned the flat again. Rock on with the road trip, Alinite!

Ha ha, I wish I could. I'll take a break from this road trip for 9 days, but then I have two in a row. But, it has been a nice road trip.

Great show. We did run into accordion Mom as she was leaving -- I hope your son is feeling better! I didn't get any more signs cause my hubby couldn't handle the heat of standing out there. We went in early, about 6:15 and got myself a W&N hat to cover my head scar. We sat and waited and talked a bit and watched the people. The guy kidding the audience (can't think of his name) before the show was very entertaining and got the crowd interested.

We were row 5 of section 115 (center, a total of about 15 rows back) so we had a great view... except for my son who was kinda blocked, but did get to see a little and at least he had the jumbotron. Giant screen above us. Unfortunately we didn't get any confetti or Al money (we were so close once to grab a bill, but it blew away -- boo!)

After the show, we did find the bus but it was blocked not only by a fence, but a fence with black mesh on it! Even still Steve and Al did come out and we handed things over the fence for them to sign. My son got his iPod signed, which he now pronounces as THE COOLEST iPOD EVER!!! And it was nice that I did hear Al ask one of the guards if they could at least take some of teh mesh down, but the Ohio State Patrol guy wouldn't let him.

Well worth the experience! :whoot:

So glad you had a good time, jedimom! Sorry it was so hot. It was hot here, too, so I could imagine standing out in it. I'm glad you got to meet Steve and Al, even if they wouldn't take the mesh down. <_< Cool that Al signed your son's iPod. He must be over the moon! I'll go have a look at your pics soon. Thanks for posting your review!

Great time at the fair last night!

We spent the evening before and the whole day out shopping with Jim. Followed the bus into the fairgrounds and played around on stage during the sound checks. Got to play on the drums a bit (fun times with the "Butt Kicker"... don't ask). Hung out with Steve for a bit and then settled in our seats for the show. After the show, we headed for the tour bus to hang with the band, Suzzane and their cute little baby. We stayed there for about 4 hours and then, sadly, headed back to the hotel... until next week! The theme for the Cincy show will be, Red wine, Burgandy yarn, water, a wine rack, and oh... knitting needles!

I've got some pictures that I will put up on Flikr for people ot look at.

The heat was pretty bad, but it was amazing that AL came and signed even though we were all behind a fence. Seeing the concert in sign language was pretty neat. Would have liked to see WBUL, but by looking at the stage, I don't think AL had an easy way down off the stage. Paris Hilton/Headline News did't seem to hit as big with the audience here as it did in kettering. I guess it is old news by now.

I need to stop having shirts signed. I never want to wear them after I have them signed. Accordion mom, I was looking for you but didn't see you. Nice business cards though. I will be ready for king's island. We will make up all the signs we didn't get here.

I was way over on the right, and up kind of high in section 214. I was upset about the seats at first, but I got over it pretty quickly. It was the second show I'd ever been to, and I think the first one was better(at the Mershon Auditorium on the OSU campus). I don't think they did Smells Like Nirvana at that show, though.
