I can pretty much do every song except for Hardware Store, I pretty much mumble my way through, then I say the only words I can say and make it sound like I'm a pro.

That's awesome! I've noticed that the more I practice his songs, the better my breathing gets. :) Like on Couch Potato, where he says, "Look there's James Lipton discussing the oeuvre of Mr. Rob Schneider and there's "Gilligan" and "SpongeBob", plus there's "MacGyver" and Jay Leno has got Madonna, hey there's Luke Perry on a
Special all Pig-Latin episode of "Drew Carey"

He says it with a breath in between, but I don't even have to take that second breath in between :D

That's You're Pitiful. And yeah, it's off topic, since we're talking about fast songs.

LTW, I love that you were able to improve your students reading skills and vocabulary with Al's songs. Al as a learning tool. I like it!
4 words that Al said to me that blew me away:

"How's Problem Child doing?" - 7/12/11

So awesome!

Incidentally, you can also hear Pumba and Timon sing that chant (with slightly different lyrics) in "The Lion King," when they try to distract the hyennas. ;)
Thanks, Jeremy - I'd wondered where I'd heard that tune before! :D

I can sing JS just fine, and YHFT pretty well too. I despair of ever singing the list from HS in time, though I know it.

And I wish I could learn the 'new' Yoda Chant. (It's new to me, I didn't see any of the Poodle Hat shows.) That would polka. As it is, I know the chant from WAY Live, I just can't enunciate some of the words properly and it runs together.

You're talking about the Hawaiian War Chant part being new to you, right, Laurel? Well, there is still a new addition to the chant for this tour, near the end. I love it!

Yeah, Patti, that's what I meant. :)

Gotta love the Yoda Chant, in all its forms!

I know it's been mentioned in another thread (probably the Yoda thread) but there's a video on youtube of the evolution of the yoda chant. you just search Yoda Chant and it should be on the first page.

About the War Chant: Awesome, I didn't remember it from Poodle Hat until i just went and saw that awesome Chant Evolution video lol.

I love how his excitement on the last syllable and the crowd's ensuing applause grows with each tour. Al seems to be just like "Yep, cool little treat for you guys, okay we're done" in 1994 but now he seems much more excited, and knows that everyone seems to expect it and wait for it.

Oh, and to my credit, while he did do that chant during Poodle Hat, he DIDN'T say "Everybody!" :P
English doesn't just borrow from other languages, it mugs them on the street and checks their pockets for loose grammar.
