I still fail to see the Prince in this song. It sound entriley too much like Beck for me to give in to the idea that the song is a Prince style parady.

What Al said was that it was meant to be him trying to sound like Beck (Midnite Vulture) trying to sound like Prince. So Al meant to style-parody both artists, but Beck is the more immediate one.

Oh, and thanks to minnick I went to http://zappa.com/splash.html and they have a Zappa stream. I listened to about 20 minutes. About all I could take, but it was interesting....

And of course, Jacko allowed Al to shoot the "Fat" video on the same set as "Bad."

For all the bashing Michael gets in the media, we do have to give him credit for one gesture in his pre-freakish period. If he didn't turn down the idea of "Snack All Night," there may not have been a "Smells Like Nirvana."

Not quite.
The "Fat" video actually was not the same set that they filmed "Bad" on. It was the same set that they filmed "Baby Bad" or "Badder" on or whatever they called it. I don't know if you saw the "Moonwalker" video, but Michael Jackson recreated the "Bad" video with kids. And that was also shot on a subway set but it was shot on a subway set, that was built I believe on nine-tenth scale. And that was the one available at the time we were shooting "Fat", and that was the one that we were able to use.

Either way, the point is the same. MJ has continuously been extremely supportive of Al.

Well, I just thought I'd throw my 27 cents in. When I first heard the song I didn't really care for it. Sort of bored me...but then I started listening to the lyrics...and I find it hysterical. Having been a single female at one time in my life, I have met some really lame men. This song fits a lot of them to a T !!! It does seem to be a bit riska (Spelling?) in places, but it's still tamer than most other songs out now a days - heck it's even tamer than some commercial on newtwork TV. So my 27 cents worth is - I really like this song and find it funny. I hope Al does it in concert - I'd love to see his facial expressions during it .

My bad....I was misremembering the box set booklet (either that, or I was for some reason thinking the normal "Bad" was originally on the "Moonwalker" video...that classic of home video cinema).
