First, you'll be an adult in less than a decade. Not that far away.

Second: dude! Dont even think about that! It's depressing. :(
Man, Yankopunk. And today I only ever realised that... That hurts me :(

Also, you're very true on that. A world without Al and Jeff will be a sad and dark one. Let's be thankful we have them! I can't think of where my adult self will be, though... It's just a world without our Lynne and Yankovic will be terrible and I know that for sure.

What hurts? That you'll be grown, soon? If so, that's all the more reason to enjoy being a kid! :)

As for the latter, one needs to appreciate everyone they care about every single day. Age doesn't mean a thing. When it's your time, it's your time. Mine was supposed to be long ago, but I'm still here, so I treasure each day even when it's rotten. And of course, we always see people taken before their time.

You'll see Al someday. If I got to, you will, too. :)

Hi, everybody--My husband and I will be at this concert. We are sitting in Orchestra 3, row GG, seats 302 & 303. Hope to be able to say hi to all my friends who are coming to this concert, and to meet a few new friends from WOWAY that I've never met in real life before.

We have VIP tickets (not czar), but we purchased them secondary market so I think that might mean we won't be able to get into the VIP party. :(

Anyway, this is exciting! We fly out early tomorrow morning, so I'd better get some sleep! :w

I get into New York early Thursday evening and will be at the Hilton Midtown. I have a second double bed in my room (through Sunday morning) so if anyone wants to split the room post go ahead and PM me.

Cheers, Diva

Since I had time, I researched bag and camera policies for Radio City. My assumption was this was going to be ZERO CANERAS but I really want to bring my Canon because we went Czar for this one. This is what I learned:

Reviewing the camera/bag policies for Radio City. They recommend you "travel light" and your bag needs to fit under your seat. No place to check a bag/coat. So keep that in mind, VIPs who want to costume up.

The camera policy is more interesting:

Cameras
Video cameras, audio recording devices and cameras with telephoto, zoom or detachable lenses are not permitted inside the venue. Additionally, for the safety of the performers and animals and as a courtesy to your fellow patrons, video, flash and tablet photography are not permitted during the show.

For concert events, this policy is at the discretion of the artist. Please call Guest Relations at 212-465-6225, any weekday during normal business hours, for more information.

That is a lot less strict than I assumed it would be. Guess we try after all.

(And yaaaaaaaaay can't wait to see you, Vikki!)

Sounds like a similar policy to most events: cameras are alright but no "professional" / detachable lenses. It says no zoom, but every camera has at least a small optical zoom. I'm guessing they mean "point and shoot" only. At the very least, they should make a policy like the venue where I saw Al, where you can bring any camera but only shoot outside the auditorium and you can't have your camera out during the show. Because of that, I could bring my high-end Canon camera to the meet and greet. JW and I talked about my camera a bit before I met Al; he really liked it.

Actually-the part that is interesting is the note about concerts where the artist policy overrides the venue one. IME, Al's shows are very camera friendly. It seems especially so on this tour. The last night of Vegas, the venue was encouraging not only still photography but *video* though I've not heard that since. And yes, I went and asked after hearing that announcement. They said so long as no supplemental lighting was used, knock yourself out.

I don't have a point and shoot, but the lens on my camera isn't detachable, either, so it's occasionally in a grey area for venues. In about 30 shows on this tour, only one place would not let me bring the camera in, and one asked me to put it down. Other places where I thought there might be an issue didn't even address it. The band knows I take pictures and they appear fine with it. I really thought RC would be more stringent, but this is a lot more relaxed than a lot of other places we've been this round.

I'm going back and forth based on this. My lens is detachable, so if they give me a hard time... I don't know what I'm going to do with it.

Maybe call the venue and see if "this artist" has a different policy from the default?
