UHF Blu Ray! (Was 25th anniversary of UHF)

Is AL-TV returning or did you find a nice interview? Just tell the folks here.

I know offhand she has made some homophobic comments (some pertaining to the TV show Glee,) as well as associating with the Tea Party.

We know Al would take issue with the homophobic behavior at least, as he has supported human rights charities in the past, going as far as to donate all proceeds of Perform this Way to the Human Rights Campaign (America’s largest civil rights organization working to achieve gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender equality.)

Al has also expressed support for the American Foundation for Equal Rights(a charity focused on marriage equality.)

Not to get overly political in this thread, but it's a little more than just "associating" with the Tea Party, which I don't think in and of itself would be a problem. She's an outspoken conservative, which is fine, but I think even most conservatives would agree she's a been a little over the top lately. Not only is she a birther (which is nutty enough), she's gone so far as to call Obama a "terrorist" and she wrote an op-ed claiming she was being spied because of her views. If that isn't enough, she's posted on her blog about conspiracies involving the Masons and--yes--the "Illuminati" and "NWO". (Therefore, my use of the :foil: smiley throughout this discussion.) Here's one of her posts where she mentions them, if you can bear it: http://victoriajackson.com/11331/secret-masonry

It's kind of sad, really.

Oh wow. Had no idea she was that out there.

Yes the foil hat smiley sums it up nicely, I think.

I almost wonder if "Foil" was partially inspired by Al's former pal spiraling down into that conspiracy theorist rabbit hole. I imagine when someone gets caught up in this kind of thing he/she ends up alienating a lot of friends and family.

It's sad to see that freedom leaving our country, while those who do not support the same viewpoints are free to make their opinions known all the time. It's ridiculous. It makes those of us who base our beliefs on very important foundations which were the basis of past, being ostracized and criticized for supporting the viewpoints, which we feel are correct.
You do realize that:

1) she is not being erased from history, just not drawn into one picture
2) she is not being stripped of any "freedom" whatsoever as a result of this
3) it has nothing to do at all with the fact that she is a conservative; as others have said she has gone way off the foil hat deep end
4) there is no evidence at all that this was deliberately done as a result of anything she has ever said or done
5) you could make a counter-argument that "forcing" someone to include a drawing of another person on their DVD art is itself robbing them of their own artistic freedom
6) if you're criticizing anyone for this, it's Al who's "at fault"

right?

I'm hearing that all of Victoria Jackson's scenes are being reshot by Hayden Christensen actually

Let's not forget that Michael Richards also flirted with some "not popular" rhetoric a few years ago, but he managed to still make the cover. My honest guess is that there was no ulterior reason for omitting VJ, other than the fact that Teri is without a doubt the least interesting/funny character in the film, and therefore not a exactly a selling point.

Well Michael Richards had one incident a decade ago, Victoria Jackson is an ongoing disaster.

No one cares about the fact that there's no Billy Barty??? Heightists :x:

Politics aside, there's all kinds of horror stories about her backstage from her SNL days.. And that was decades before her "awakening". She's always been a sore spot with many people, regardless of her views.

It's best to chalk this up to coincidence, especially because of Michael Richards.
