Dammit!
The Snuggie people stole Al's idea!
And it's not the first time, either...they will pay.

No, I really don't think so. Al usually doesn't joke in his tweets. Usually everything he says you can take at face value and there's no sarcasm or facetiousness in anything he says. The lead single on Al's new album will be a parody of the Macerena. You can take that one to the bank!
Hehehehehe!

So, you too are open to a long warranted parody of "We Built This City", I take it.

What's with Pat Dollard and the Al hatred?

More importantly, why does Al only seem to respond to hateful tweets instead of paying attention to people more worthy like me?

Probably because its far more entertaining for his various stalkers.
Entertaining:
PatDollard: @alyankovic I thought you were dead! LOL!
alyankovic: @PatDollard No, I am not in fact dead. You, however, might as well be dead, because I've never heard of you before. BURN!
Not as Entertaining:
theDingo: @alyankovic I LOVE YOU!
alyankovic: @theDingo Okay... thanks

What puzzles me is the people who failed to see the humor in Al's response, so they scolded him for sinking to Pat Dollard's level. The only reason Dollard did what he did was to get a response from Al. He did, and was amused. Too bad he started RTing a troll later on...

Al didn't sink to Pat Dollard's level. For example, he didn't write zillions of tweets per hour to prove he exists, or retweet every single freakin' @Mention of himself, or try to discover invisible political motives of COMEDIANS, or defend his own semantics for strangers until the cows come home to milk, slaughter and BBQ themselves.
And might I say, THANK GOD. Thank God Al has the sense to reserve Twitter for announcements and silly jokes only. No fluff, no wasted time, no CARING whatsoever about the f***in' Pat Dollards of the world. To Al, Pat Dollard is literally nothing more than a vessel for a set-up to a perfect comeback, and I love that.
As a sidenote, isn't it ironic that the dude who thinks telling someone "I thought you were dead, 'cuz you're OLD ha ha ha ha" is a half-decent joke by any standards, is also trying to tell me which comedians to listen to? Whatever. I learned long ago what a fool's errand it is to try talking sense into the Pat Dollards of the world. Evidently you can hold a 200,000-citizen-strong RALLY for the sole cause of reasonable discourse, and it's still in one Doll-ear and out the other.

Oh, I agree that Al didn't sink to Pat Dollard's level. Not my words, but those of folks who didn't get it. I was surprised that some people seemed more upset with Al than they were with Dollard, who really wasn't funny/original with his comment. I just loved that Al came right back with a zinger. The people who didn't see the humor in that are just sad.
