Wow that's actually kind of awesome. I forgot about that song existing until now.

Did Al actually co-write that song, or did he just perform on it? Either way, still awesome you have that

Bill Mumy typed those lyrics and then Al and them added to it later.

Rare Al Items... :)

Post by giantlobsterrobot »

Hi. I have an autographed copy of the Peter and the Wolf album he did. I have the Gump single on cd, the Headline News single on cassette, his first five albums on vinyl, and a bunch of vinyl singles from the 80's. The vinyl albums were all at a used record store in the city I grew up in (Roseville, Michigan) and the vinyl singles were found by searching an old database of special order items when I worked at a store called Media Play as a teenager. I ordered them, even though the database said they were out of print. A week later my boss came up to me with a bunch of vinyl singles of Al songs and said, "You're the only one who would order these. There is no customer listed as ordering them, so I assume they're yours." I gladly took them for the $0.70 they were listed for. I paid about $0.45 for each one after my discount and was amazed they even came at all!

YAY!

The story was a little lengthy, but thanks to anyone who read the whole thing. I am still kicking myself for not buying the Allan Sherman vinyl that I saw.

Found a Dare To Be Stupid cassette for 25 cents at a garage sale a couple years ago. Found an Off The Deep End cassette in my uncles basement a couple days ago and he didn't know where it came from so that was really cool and last month I was at a thrift store and found a UHF cassette for 79 cents. I guess anything out of print could be considered rare right?
What a racket they're makin', Jack, they keep me up at night playin' their electric guitars!!

Yeah man, I wanna find the others now. I used to own the TV Album on cassette when I was like 7 too, but it's looong gone.
