Don't feed the trolls. He's just trying to get to you, Patti. Go have a nice refreshing glass of lemonade or something.

Haha, thanks, guys. I wish I could post that smiley over there, Dave.
I do have this screengrab from the "Word Crimes" video. Nah, that'd be a waste of a perfectly good screengrab.
It's not like he is making grammar errors, he just makes me wanna smack him upside the head with a crowbar.

So now with the new album? What do we think the set list would be. I was reading through past opinions during the Alpocolypse. It would definitely be no more than 15 or so minutes .. and didn't Al mention something about wanting to perform with the original artists? I've read the arguments with fans thinking this halftime show would be a joke, and while i disagree with it, I do think that playing Sports Song at any point might not help our cause. The medley is probably also a given. I think with the astounding impact of this album, we're apt to hear the biggest songs on MF as well as the songs he's most known for. Anyways, my probable set list guess:
1) Tacky - Maybe a half split with Happy, as Pharell will appear from under the stage.
2) Word Crimes - With Robin Thick and whoever else is in that song - I can't remember.
3) White and Nerdy - With chamillionaire
4) Medley: (Part of a polka?), my bologna, like a surgeon, smells like nirvana, yoda, eat it
and then the encore: Mr. Frump in the Iron Lung - obviously.
I don't know. This is tough. I think performing with the original artists would be excellent to see, but I think the NFL or Fox would think it better for ratings to have the original artists incorporate the original lyrics in maybe a back and forth way (e.g. between Happy and Tacky). I can't even decide on what songs should be played (besides maybe eat it ... but the problem here is evident - hologram, anyone?)
Also, does this petition mention anything about HEADLINING? Who's to say he won't be one of those surprise guests who comes out for a verse of tacky in the middle of One Direction's 15 minute set? Remember when Nelly ran out in the middle of Aerosmith's set and quickly rapped a verse of E.I. over the Walk this Way music ...
Ok ...i'm done.

The petition is over 100,000 signatures now.
I am not sure that the vitriolic Al-haters are the same group as Super Bowl fans. The too-cool-for-school, bytes-in-their-bloodstream crowd and sports fans may not overlap all that much. Al has a very wide fan demographic; it isn't limited to comment box trolls.

I'm with you on "Tacky" and maybe the polka being performed, but I think "Word Crimes" and "White & Nerdy" would alienate the drunk jock demo in the stands. (Can you imagine the blank stares while he did "Word Crimes"?)
I also think "Sports Song" would work on two levels: the meatheads would miss the subtle jabs at their intellect and latch onto the "We're Great"/"You Suck" mantra, while the nerdier crowd would be in stitches watching the tough guys in the crowd* totally missing the irony of it all. But maybe I'm just being overly-optimistic on that one.
No, besides "Tacky" (with Pharrell!) and the polka off the new album, they would probably want him to do "Eat It" and maybe "Amish Paradise" since those are his most universally embraced songs.
*This is not to suggest that everyone who watches the SB is a beer-swilling jock, of course.

Elvis wrote:I'd have him do a medley of:
Amish Paradise - duet with Coolio
Smells Like Nirvana - with guest bass player Krist Novoselic and guest drummer Dave Grohl
Eat It - dancers dressed up as in the Beat It video and a Michael Jackson Beat-It-era impersonator. Maybe some competitive eaters stuffing their faces throughout the song as well.
White & Nerdy - with a ton of nerdy dancers and segways.
Perform This Way - duet with Lady Gaga
I agree it would be tough to do costume changes, but I think they're needed, so "pauses" would be built in where something else is going on to allow time for costume changes, and costumes would be redesigned to allow for super quick changes. I'm assuming money is not an issue and he's got a team of the best wardrobe people on the planet available to him to pull that off. The "pauses" would be things like Coolio rapping at the end of AP, Nirvana doing a jam, Michael Jackson impersonator dancing and moonwalking, and W&N dancers dancing nerdily or some elaborate segway routine.

Updates for the new album:
The stadium is dark. A spotlight comes on and it's focused on only a tiny part of the field with Al in his marching band conductor outfit. He blows a whistle and the lights come up around him to show Al leading the world's largest high school marching band and they march down field to "Sports Song." They perform the first three verses up until to the you suck part including the marching band music, extended a bit if necessary. Al uses that time to duck out of the spotlight, change (again, think redesigned costumes to allow for super quick costume changes), and run down field. The lights go down as on the other side of the field the lights go up as Al's on stage in his "Tacky" outfit where he duets with Pharrell. Lights go down and up on another part of the stage where Krist Novoselic and Dave Grohl start jamming for a couple seconds then start performing SLN as Al joins them dressed as Kurt Cobain. Lights go down as they come up on another part of stage with a ton of nerdy dancers and segways doing a routine and Al comes out in his W&N outfit on a segway and performs W&N. Lights down one last time and back up on another part of the stage filled with dancers dressed up as in the "Beat It" video and a Michael Jackson Beat-It-era impersonator. Al changes into MJ outfit and performs "Eat It." Dancers still dance, or maybe we call in the competitive eaters, while Al disppears and changes into his "Fat" outfit and finishes the show off performing "Fat" with a ton of plus-sized dancers.

Where is this tweet from the airport? His latest tweet gives me the feeling that he's still in Hawaii.

That phone looked like it was just a random pay phone. My understanding (from interviews) is that Al planned to spend the whole month in Hawaii.
