Generally, it just looks like Al had a lot of work to do at the time. Was he a great musical parodist? Yes. A great actor? Maybe. A great screenwriter? Ehh...

I thought Jay Levey wrote the screenplay

Al and Jay co-wrote, and Jay directed.

I wouldn't call Al a "great" actor, but he certainly isn't bad at it. I hate his voice acting, though.

He's definitely a bad voice actor, no doubt.

I definitely expect everything except WYL to be a laugh-out-loud.

Oddly, I have this friend who's a huge fan of WAY, and his favorite WAY song is WYL. He thinks it's a brilliant social satire. Seriously.

That song is more culturally relevant to some people not all, the ones like myself that have been significantly impacted by the economy probably find it more funny than the ones that are more well off. I get all the jokes and they're funny to me, cause Im in a poverish kind of situation, slowly coming out of it, but the humor jumps out at me more significantly, In so many words I love the song as much as all the others

Whether or not you like the song, it is a brilliant social satire.
