If Artist Arena tries to pull any shenanigans with my tickets, they'll be sorry. I have a way with these customer service folks.

Artist Arena's policy has always been that "all sales are final" and, in my experience, they are pretty strict about it. They would be incredibly STUPID not to honor the transactions that were already completed. I think that they will follow through and send out the tickets and VIP packages that were already sold. I mean, they would have to deal with lots of angry Weird Al fans if they cancel these ticket orders. You can spit in the wind and tug on Superman's cape, but Lord knows you just don't mess around with TMBJon!

Am I just a naive optimist....?

For those of us who ordered tickets through Artist Arena for the August 13 concert, are we still going to receive them? How about VIP packages, will we receive them? I have a sinking feeling now that Artist Arena isn't accountable to Jay anymore we can pretty much kiss those tickets, VIP packages, or any refund goodbye. :?

Dave
I'm sure they have some sort of contractual obligation to make good on any pending transactions.

Either way, this was a move that needed to happen. :ttr:

My Artist Arena confirmation email said "You should receive your tickets one week prior to the event. If you have not received your tickets, please contact (212) 420-8500. All sales are final."

Well, I hope the new company will prove to be a good choice.

Don't some people already have their tickets to the OC Fair show? Or did I dream that?

Yeah, if you ordered off TicketMaster, you most likely would have your tickets by now.

As for the change in presale companies, I hope that this PAID company is something good. It's gonna suck if us or Jay are kicking ourselves, because now we're in an even worse situation. Just have to wait and see. I hope they still have the same option of being able to choose your seat, and the VIP Packages either cheaper or with unique item options than ArtistArena. Although, if someone that ordered a VIP Package ever gets their items, I'd be interested in offering for them. There looked to be some interesting items in the VIP Package.

Also, do we know if the upcoming shows going on the sale near the end of next week will have PreSales? Would like to know whether it is best to get tickets at the General OnSale or wait for the PreSale...

They're now working with a company called PAID, who handle, among others, Aerosmith and Moody Blues. He says they're working hard to create a better, more consistent system, and one that is also more streamlined.

So, there it is. Be patient about the pre-sales, since this will, of course, delay things a little bit, but it's still very early in the game, so let's hope for a smooth transition and a better ticket-buying experience this tour--woo!

Thanks, Jay!

Justice. Karma. I ended up getting decent Friday seats off of the internet, albeit pricey.

Are there any New Yorkers out there that know anything about NY state regulatory boards for businesses/commerce/consumer protection? California is far from perfect but if Artists Arena had been based from here, there would be a host of state contacts to report their extremely shoddy business practices. :viking:

Nothing has been posted anywhere official [e,g, weirdal.com,OC fair, Pacific ampitheatre] about the Saturday show yet. I really really hope that that concert wasn't ...umm..."accidentally invented" on the spot. :censored:

I asked Jay whether AA might still be handling just the OC show(s) since they had already started, and he said no, he can't trust them to get it right, and he's having everything turned over to PAID. So, let's be patient while they sort it all out and hope for the best. We're lucky all this turnover is happening after only one concert went on sale.
