Hmm Ive always thought that one of the greatest things about Al's parody's would be... he takes music that I would other wise never listen to , and makes it great!

I might as well go on the books as saying the unthinkable: I actually kinda like "Trash Day"!


But yes. . .I think "Maybe!" is a very promising-sounding parody of "Yeah!"

You're not the only one. The part about trying to talk his girl into cleaning up always cracks me up ... plus I just like the sound of it.

But, yeah, if "Maybe!" is a parody of "Yeah!", I see some great possibilities there.

I didn't like Trash Day at first, but it grew on me a lot and I do like it too.

"Maybe" is funny just thinking about the possibilities.

If 3 of the 12 tracks on the new album are rap/r&b, that's only 25%. I wouldn't consider that "heavy". Just looking at the top 10 selling albums in the past three years, at least 30% are rap or r&b. He's right on track with what's popular.

I say bring it on. Al's rap songs so far have been among his best for repeated listening and dancing. And R&B songs are great for showcasing his vocals.

I found Trash Day funny. Very funny. It suited the original down to the syllable, and the rhymes for "Hot in Here" were extremely clever. However, this song hit UK pretty hard.. it was very popular as well.

The problem I have with this new album is, basically, I haven't heard of a lot of the Urban acts before! Chamillionaire is pretty much obscure to us Brits, and we haven't even heard R. Kelly's new one. I don't even know what "Trapped in the Closet" is! The last R. Kelly song to be a hit here was Ignition, and that would have been a few years ago now.

At least one song on each ALbum, contains a parody of which I haven't heard the original before. With Poodle Hat, it was "Piano Man". With RWS, is was "Zoot Suit Riot". The thing that scares me is that with Weird Al's new album's cover (which looks serious as anything) and the newsflash of new songs and parodies that will be on there, the future albums will be drowned in comedic covers of obscure urban acts of which I haven't heard the original.

I love Trash Day, its a great tune!

I didn't like TD when it first came out, but over the past three years, I've grown to like it better than CP. With topics like "Are You Hot?" and "Anna Nicole Show," a lot of the humor of CP has a very short shelf-life, compared to TD which is much more timeless.

But anyway, Topic?

Maybe! could very well be the true track name for this song. That does make more sense than it owuld on first glance. Usher pronounces "Yeah!" in two syllables in the original song, during the chorus.

I suspect that it might be in the same vein as Trash Day. I wouldn't be at all surprised if the mystery word turned out to be "Yecch!"
