Btw, anyone who wants to view those three clips on cmt.com, you have to disable a pop-up blocker if you have one. Also, if you have Norton virus protection, you have to disable that, too. *Thanks, Shelley for that tip*.
July 28th, i'll have to remember that date.

I also sent them an email asking them to correct the spelling of Al's name from "Wierd" to "Weird".

I imagine if Al was "Odd Al" Yankovic, some places would spell it "Ood Al."

As the saying goes, "Dyslexics of the world, untie."

Now that I've seen the whole thing . .

I stand by my earlier comment, but I have to add:

Did you notice that sometimes they showed a montage of other video's during
a song?

Example: The video for the song "Man I feel like a woman" they shrunk that video and showed a montage of other video's where people were cross dressing!

If the video wasn't funny on it's own why did it make the list?!?!?

And why didn't they show longer clips of video's that were actually funny?

I've seen some the Cledus T. Judd video's and I've seen some of some of
Jeff Foxworth's videos. Those are kind of funny. Why not show the whole
thing?

Now I love Ray Steven's music, I think it's funny, but his video's are sometimes
pretty lame. And the Squirrel went to Church wasn't that funny. Though it was funnier than most of the video's on the list.

And like other's said what's with the guy at the comedy club?
That wasn't funny.

The fake laughter really got annoying too.

Say if they had a chance to interview Al, why didn't they make a special on
Al's involvement in some of the Jeff Foxworthy video's?

Ok, first of all, when they showed the Shania Twain video, it was during the segment about tranvestitism, as Al called it, so they showed different videos that used that. "Man, I Feel Like a Woman" wasn't in the countdown.

Second, Al only directed one of Jeff's videos, and he did talk about it.

I didn't think the show was that bad. The fake laughter was annoying, though.

The fake laughter was annoying and so was the "drunk" guy and the announcer.

I love Al's comments though. He the made the whole hour okay.

Actually, Al directed TWO of Jeff Foxworthy's videos -- "Redneck Stomp" (1994) [which most are familiar with] and "Party All Night" (1995) [which did not make the CMT Top 20 list]. It is also interesting (as Al pointed out in his commentary on "Redneck Stomp") that that video was the first video he ever directed that wasn't one of his own.

If anyone is interested in seeing these two videos of Jeff's, if you buy Jeff Foxworthy's album from Rhino Records "The Best Of Jeff Foxworthy: Double Wide, Single Minded", the album includes a DVD with five of Jeff's videos, including "Redneck Stomp" and "Party All Night ".

I highly recommend getting this from your local record store or off the internet or eBay. Not only do you get all of Jeff's music and the five videos, but there's a great video interview with Jeff as well. In it, at one point, he talks about working with Al. I've transcribed it here for you all to enjoy:

[quote=""Jeff Foxworthy""]
Working with Al Yankovic was, uh, an interesting experience, because I always thought ... when you saw Al on TV and he had those goofy tennis shoes and the weird shirts and the hair and glasses that ... that was like part of an act? ... It's NOT!  [laughs] It's pretty much the way Al dresses every day!  Ah ... he was a, he was a very fun director in that he had a definite idea about what he wanted to do, but he was willing to listen to what you wanted to do as well.  And, uh, I liked him so much working on "Redneck Stomp" that we came back later and used him again on "Party All Night".
[/quote]

He makes another interesting comment in the interview much later: "Every comic is a comic because we can't sing. Every comic wants to be a musician, and we have no talent." How lucky we are that we've got a "comic" who CAN sing! :D

Thanks, Dr. Dad. I stand corrected. I will say that Al directed only one out of the two Jeff Foxworthy videos on the countdown. ;) Thanks for sharing those comments from Jeff. Sounds like he liked working with Al.
