Actually, a "Blair Witch" thing would be pretty funny.
(A fan is sitting inside a tent. From outside, in the distance, they hear a noise.)
Fan: (startled) What was that??
(The noise is heard again, sounding almost rhythmic. The fan opens up their tent.)
Fan: (calling out) Hello?? Who's out there?!?
(The fan tries to listen to the noise.)
Fan: That sounds like a polka...
(Sure enough, as the noise grows, it is becoming more and more apparent that it is a riff from a polka.)
Fan: (in realization) Hey! That's "Polka Your Eyes Out!"
(They run out of the tent.)

Got an e-mail from Jim Stoddard, the guy who is producing this show. He says:
"A little about our show...VH1 is producing a documentary-style series called "Totally Obsessed," which will feature real people with various passions, hobbies, interests, collections, and obsessions.
In order for us to learn more about you and your love for Weird Al, we would like for you to create a 5-10 minute video on DV or VHS that we can submit to our Executive Producers for review. We want you to have fun with it!
If you would like to participate in the submission process, please contact me again to hear more about the creation of your tape, as well as how you can send your tape to me for free. Yes, we will pay for the shipping!
Feel free to contact me by phone at (310) 752-8405 or email at
[email protected] if you have ANY questions. "
I know a girl who tried to be on an MTV special about how music saved her life (this was about 1999 or so). The producer sent a camera crew and they taped her sitting at the reflecting pool in front of the Capitol. She didn't make it on the show, but at least the video was professionally produced.
So there ya go.

You know what would be AWESOME? Anyone who flew to Australia to see Al and the guys telling their story on Vh1.
I'd love to see that!
Carole? Carole? Beuller? Beuller?
Anyone else?

I'm now wondering which other "topics" they're looking for. I'd feel a lot better about this if I knew they were also doing a Madonna episode and a Beatles episode rather than, say, a "Lord of the Rings" episode or an "ALF" episode.

Yeah, way back when they actually used to show music videos. Those were the days.

How about a Peter Pan episode?
