E! has the rights back to show SNL. I wonder if the special was brought up in contract renegotiations.

I would hope it came up. E! probably wants to be able to at least break even by airing the show they produced.

Just to show how far out of the SNL loop I am, I wasn't even aware that E! was in danger of losing the rights to the show. I thought they had a longterm contract for the reruns.

Yup...I believe NBC made them pull it, and even if they didn't and E! pulled it as a precaution, they still stopped showing it for a long time, which I'm sure would've made NBC's contract folks pretty upset

I thought it was odd I didna see ads for it on there for a while. I know they ran that "E is the only place you can see SNL" ad to death. Weird that they didna have it for a while after that.

No Al in the first ep, but remember, that doesn't mean anything.

There was an ep of Celebrity Oops that was Al-less as well.

Or, maybe it does. I noticed that Bermuda has not updated weirdal.com to announce Al's appearance on the show since E! announced they would broadcast it afterall.
