Nicely put, OE. It would really be great if Poodle Hat would go gold due to the success of SOL. This new album is pulling in new fans, which means they might want to hear Al's older cd's. It's all good.

I agree, Helen. The fact that "eBay" is now charting is a testament to iTunes, as well as the success of SOL. It shows that Al is bringing in many new fans who are now discovering Al's other work.

I just meant it was sad that it took so long to chart. Of all the songs on PH, I would've thought "Ebay" would've charted by now. At least, it should have.

I think Poodle Hat is a great album! Easily one of my favorites. Although I don't care for CP that much, I have to admire the very complex rhythm the guys have to pull off. I like the CD cover much better than SOL (sorry, just me, but Al looks totally hot in a business suit!), and Hardware Store is one of my all-time favorites.
EBay is great and WBUL...well, 'nuff said about that one

- Albuquerque? Bob? Only Al could have written something like that. Trash Day-Love it!
The only reason PH didn't do as well as it should was just due to Mr. Stinkbottom (er, no offense you understand), Eminen.

It very well might. What did it have, the last we knew? Something like 424,000 sales? It was close, at any rate.

For some odd reason Ebay has always done extremly well on Itunes. Not a knock on the song or anything, it's just strange that it's stayed this big for three years...let alone that it's now starting to chart.

It's even stranger when one considers that its only relatively mainstream exposure has been as background music on eBay auctions.

It's been making the rounds through Yahoo Groups

(groups that aren't about Al, but do use eBay)

Who knows where W&N will end up on the next Billboard chart, but it has re-entered the top 20 on ITunes (This after being in the mid 30s about 3 weeks ago). Also, the video is back at #1 (Not really news, since it's pretty much always been 1 or 2 since it was added) and perhaps most surprising of all, SOL is currently at #45 on their albums chart....despite not being in the top 100 for a while!

Life is good.
My short but sweet commentary on these days: I think they're the best ever for Al fans in his entire career. The entire SOL era will be very fondly remembered, I can tell.
Oh, and speak of the devil, I just got the photos from the SOL signing back today (well, technically yesterday, but whatever).
Finally! Too bad they're not digital, I'd upload them if they were. Darn it, those things belong in my iPhoto!
