World of Weird Al Yankovic

In the "Why Does This Always Happen to Me?" department, I just found out through an email alert that Al's pal Ben Folds in playing at the Palace of Auburn Hills on July 5th. Same day I'm going to see Al at CityFest. The only other info is "all day". What does this mean?? I might have to investigate further. I'd love to see Ben in concert someday. Guess it won't be this year.

ETA: On further investigation, Ben's show starts at 7:30. He's touring with John Mayer. Sounds like that would have been a nice show. But, tickets are $49.50 and $59.50, so it would have been a little steep. I'd rather see Al, anyway, and his show is free!

Yeah, I felt badly that Emo's Myspace is gone .

I had to work late the evening I was supposed to go to his improv show in San Francisco, and then got stuck in a massive traffic jam so I couldn't make it.

I had my ticket and everything. I was so disappointed.

Dont worry, Emo's Myspace is coming back. In the meantime there is a candlelight vigil for Emo's Myspace to return

I saw that vigil page. I joined. Judy Tenuta is a friend there, too.

So why is Al pleading Emo's case to the penultimate (meaning next-to-last) echelon and not to the ULTIMATE echelon? Does Al not have enough celebrity "pull" to reach those levels? Should Emo have been asking Yanni to do the job instead? What's the deal here?

Um, I don't know. It also says he's heard no word back for 1 1/2 days. Maybe that's why he used the term penultimate? I might not even know what I'm talking about here. I just think it's cool he called Al his "stalwart protector".
