Specifically, when I click to play any episode individually (not "Play All") it goes to a black screen and doesn't allow any buttons to be pressed, so that I have to restart the entire player and re-watch the 10 minutes of ads ShoutFactory has put on there. And clicking either of the Karaoke options (with or without "training wheels") simply returns to the extras menu.

I've called ShoutFactory to ask about an exchange.

Thanks.
I would say that you have a defective set. You should probably return it and get a new one.

I finally finished watching all 13 episodes with commentary -- I had to wait for the last show "Al Gets Robbed" for the obligatory Prince slam ;)

My set is doing the same exact thing as Whitney's on the second disc. The first disc seems to work fine, but the second won't play individual episodes. <_< I have to select "Play All" and chapter skip through to get to a specific episode. It may be the players that we're using though, because my DVD player has given me problems before. It may be time to upgrade.

Woah is me. I have had the worst luck trying to get a copy that doesn't have a defect. Apparently, I have discovered a batch of DVDs that were manuafactured with the same defects in the same places. Allow me to explan. Episode #2, I forget the title, but it's about the best talk show host competition from the 3rd disc. The problem is, much of the episode has audio drops and the audio drops happen in the same exact places from each copy I've tried. Ugh. I've already returned/exchanged the DVD set 3 times from my local Best Buy. I'll probably end up demanding a complete refund so I can get a decent copy from elsewhere. This totally blows. Has anyone else had this problem?? I know the problem is not with my DVD player.

I'm not too worried. The episodes still play fine. I just can't access them directly. For as often as I'll end up watching the DVDs in the future, it's really no big deal.

BTW, has anyone found any Easter Eggs in the DVDs yet?

Just to let you guys know that The Weird Al show is having some of the same problems, like skipping and cutting in and out. My DVD player is a brand new one I just baught it last week. So I don't think that all the problems are on your guys's DVD players, it's with the dvd's themselves. something must have happened while they were finalizing the set. Just wanted to let you guys know.
