Got my copy today and watched the first three eps both without and with commentary. I've seen the shows a bunch of times already, so they were nothing new. But it's nice to watch them without having to see Steve Urkle shout "Welcome Home!" before the episode. :rolleyes: And it's even nicer not to have to see any lame commercials for "Wheel of Fortune 2000."

Al's commentaries are hilarious, as everyone has said. I love the way he points out all the instances where CBS restricted his creativity. It's really a riot. It wasn't funny at the time, but all these years later it certainly is. One thing that bugs me about the commentaries is that they'll start talking about something and then some segment or guest star will come on the screen and they'll change topics to talking about what's on the screen, but then they never return to what they were talking about before.

Question for those of who've watched all the way through:

At the end of "Promises, Promises," Al mentions a "Star Wars" bit that was never used and promises to come back to it later. Do they ever explain that bit in the other commentaries?

Yes, they explain it in full detail in the Obligatory Holiday Episode.

It's really a shame because it was gonna be REALLY funny.

AAAARGH. Stupid Wal*Mart doesn't have it yet! I was gonna get it today. ;_;

However! My dad happily announced that, no matter the price, he'll get me that DVD tomorrow from Best Buy. ("I get paid tomorrow! *smilesmile*")

So, YAY FOR AWESOME DAD!

(Psh, knowing my luck they won't have it. Oh well. OPTIMISM. *headdesk* MUST. BE. OPTIMISTIC.)
Are we playin' horseshoes, honey? No, I don't think we are...

The DVD is spectacular. My only complaint is that guest commentators like Emo Philips only come on for their short on-screen roles. I'd love to hear them commenting on the whole episode. Jon Lovitz did commentary for an episode the Simpsons that he wasn't even in, and it turned out hilarious! I need more Emo Philips!!

What I loved about that recitation on the commentary was that's pretty much exactly what the audience does at every screening of "Star Wars" I've ever been to.

It sounds like a great DVD set! I ordered mine off of Barnes & Noble.com yesterday. I should be getting it on the 21st :party: I tried to find it at Best Buy, but it turns out that they sold out and weren't getting any copies for a while. Then Suncoast just plain didn't have them >:S So I just decided to order them online.

Is anyone else having technical difficulties with their DVD set, or did I get a defective one?

Specifically, when I click to play any episode individually (not "Play All") it goes to a black screen and doesn't allow any buttons to be pressed, so that I have to restart the entire player and re-watch the 10 minutes of ads ShoutFactory has put on there. And clicking either of the Karaoke options (with or without "training wheels") simply returns to the extras menu.

I've called ShoutFactory to ask about an exchange.

Thanks.

I'm still waiting for mine to arrive from the Mothership. <_< I'm starting to wish I had just decided to go to the store and buy it on Tuesday...
